TV volume plays when playing Games

Hi there,

I just got a new **** cable box from Shaw(Canada) and everything seems to work great except for when i go to play a game, the TV sounds comes through and not the game sound.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Xbox commercial just made my Xbox start playing music

Umm, I'm playing Madden (fortunately paused) while I have the TV app snapped and a commercial plays in which a guy says, "Xbox Play Music". And my stupid game switches to Xbox Music and starts playing music!?!?!?!

Can I mute TV volume and have game audio up while the darn TV app is snapped!??!?!

 

Game Audio Noticeably Low

Same issue here... low volume with games, but also when playing movies. TV is much louder.

 

Sorry to hear it. If you've just recently finished watching TV then try highlighting the app from the Home page, press the Start button and select Quit.

That did not seem to work, all it did was stop the picture from the TV, the sound still stays on :/

 

This is one that I've not heard of before so let's try something else here. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. See if that helps out at all.

 

Thanks, what you suggested did not work but, it forced me to look at the cables and they way they were hooked up on the back of the TV....The Cable Guy hooked up the sound incorrectly not only on the back of the TV but, inside the TV menu as well
