Discus and support TV volume controls headset volume in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have the Turtle Beach Recon 200 wired headset.     I have the Turtle Beach Recon 200 wired headset. My problem is that the tv volume controls the headset volume (mute also). I just want to be able to have the tv muted with the sound still through the headset.

    are we using headphones? maybe try changing the volume for the your tv. If we are using headphone then you have a volume control on your chat adapter or on the headset its self to control the volume for the headphones.

    I believe low TV volume is intentional. A web search indicates that you may have more volume control if using an Xbox headset.

    Once the headphones are connected, double-tap the guide button on the controller, and navigate to the bottom for headset settings.

    You should find an adjustable headset volume setting. That will be the game volume in your headphones.

    Please note that audio will still play from the TV even while headphones are connected to the controller. You can just mute your TV volume while using the headphones.

    I use turtle beach headphones with the adapter. What I do is turn chat volume up with adapter, then I use the volume control on the cable connecting headset to controller to control chat volume while controlling game volume with volume control on the headset.

    From my experience with turtle beach headsets you will not see the volume sliders on the adapters or with the headset, if they have the volume controls on them. e.g. if the headset has volume and mic volume controls, you willnot see them available on
    the xbox.
