TV turns off while using Xbox

I just got my first Xbox. I have got it hookeup and set up on my tv. However now that its hookup, my tv will suddenly turn off while I am trying to use my Xbox on it. I have tried to switch which HDMI port i have it plugged into.

the strangest hdmi problem I have ever seen.

worst case would be is that your xbox hdmi port is busted. but i think its just out of sync with the your TV. Turn off the TV while the xbox is turned on and turn the TV back on.

Xbox one tv doesn't power on with start up

As of recently whenever I turn on my Xbox the tv doesn't turn on with it. This was not an issue before and nothing in my settings has changed. I have a 40 in Samsung model LN40D630M3F. I tried having the tv on prior to turning on the xbox to see if there
was any signal being sent and it resulted in the tv turning off with start up. Doing the opposite, I tried turning the console off while having the tv already off and the tv didn't turn on. It seems the Xbox can only turn the tv off.

Any one with a similar issue or a way to fix?

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't work try a different HDMI cable and possibly a different TV.

I think i got it resolve.

i disabled the CEC funtion and now is been runing for about 1 hour.

let see once i do more testing.

Hello Jori,

Sorry for the issue with the TV turning off. There usually is a setting on the TV for it to shut off after so long. Most also have a feature now if they notice no movement that it will auto shut off. Also on the console there is a idle time but that is for
console not the TV. I suggest checking the manual for the TV and see if you can find the setting there. Let us know if need further help. Being it is a certain amount of time every time I think it is most likely a TV setting.

your gonna have to go to the settings on your tv i think have to be with the timing if im not mistaking it will turn off like every 5 or 10 minutes if u cant find it call your tv company they will help you out with your problem hope you can resolve
