TV Tuner only works on side USB socket

I've recently got a TV tuner which works fine on the side USB socket but refuses to work on either of the back sockets. I've tried restarting the Xbox and resetting it too but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've previously had a steering wheel attached to the bottom USB socket at the back so I think this works.

I try to watch TV with a DVB-T2 rod antenna, the Digital TV tuner (USB) on the XBOX One.

If I carry out the channel search, the XBOX One finds no channels.

So here are my question:

1. Does the Digital TV Tuner (USB) work with a DVB-T2 rod antenna at all?

Strange...not sure how to work around it without disconnecting the controller before turning on.

Do you know you can charge the batteries on most things with a usb socket?

Does your TV have a usb?

I have a mains plug with usb socket on it that charges mine.

 

Perhaps its only supposed to work in the side USB?................just a thought.

 

Is it the offical xbox tv tuner, i have that and it's working perfectly in the back USB port.

Try uninstalling and then installing the tv app while the tuner is in the back port, that might help.

Oh and make sure the arial is plugged in, the first time i used mine it did not find it, but then i plugged the arial in and if was fine.

It seems as if the TV function belongs in the One Guide app that cannot be removed? I've tried unplugging the tuner (with the aerial attached) and it still refuses to recognise it when using the back ports.

Also, I've noticed that the controller loses its pairing with the Xbox unless the Xbox is set to 'energy saving' start up mode. Not sure if this is related (USB controller?) but it's worth a try...

 

This is very strange to say the least, i cannot fathom why this won't work on the back ports, they are just USB ports like the side one.

And did you just say you cannot uninstall the TV app, if so then that is also very strange to say the least, did you go to manage app and then pick uninstall?

Have you thought about resetting the whole console to Restore factory defaults, that might fix you issues....just in case you want to try that here is how you do it...

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select System.

Select Console info & updates.

Select Restore factory defaults.

Read the warning message, and then select Yes.

Just out of curiosity....Was the xbox new when you bought it, did you install a different HDD, was the TV tuner bought new........ just trying to try and work out what could be stopping the TV tuner from working.

 

Thanks - the TV app does not have an uninstall option unless I'm missing something? I can uninstall TV + Films, for example. I've tried a factory default reset which took a while but didn't help.

I bought the Xbox new and have never touched the HDD, although the TV tuner was off eBay - it works fine in the side USB port though.

Maybe I'll try recharging my phone from the rear USB sockets that will at least show if they have power..?
