    TV tuner no longer working after update (alpha)


    The Hauppauge tv tuner for Xbox one no longer works for me on oneguide after the latest update.

    Tried all 3 usb ports and no difference. It works when doing the setup by scanning for channels and finding them etc. But when launching oneguide it says tv tuner not detected and the lights on the tuner itself actually turn off.

    For context, my external hard drive works fine.

    Submitted a bug report already, just figured I'd post in here if anyone else was having the same issue.

    Xbox One X - PVR (UK Freeview)?

    I can't answer the UK Freeview bit, here is what I know about the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox:

    • It can be used to view compatible OTA TV stations,
    • The OneGuide app can be used to view the Digital TV Tuner stations,
    • IIRC there is a pause live TV function however it may be restricted to a maximum of 30 minutes,
    • Microsoft was working on an update to enable longer PVR functionality but that was put on hold some months ago, I don't know if they plan to restart that.

    That last point disappointed me when it was announced as I specifically bought the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox when I read that they were working on the PVR feature.

    The pause live TV function is nice though if you just need a short bathroom break.

    Same issue here. 5.1 worked fine with the USB tuner prior to the NXOE update. I've had to update two xboxes and both times immediately after the update 5.1 OTA functionality was lost. Surround is enabled in my TV settings but it has no effect. Surround
    still works fine for games, movies etc.

    I'm having the same issue ever since the latest update. I've tried everything. Games work fine, it's just the OTA TV with the XBOX ONE TV tuner with the problem.

    The challenge with the current TV Tuner is that it's a single tuner. If there was a software update to enable recording, you'd only be able to record the same channel that you're watching. Whilst that might not be a problem for everyone, it's wouldn't be
    the seamless experience that Microsoft are going for.

    With a dual-tuner though...technically that could work absolutely fine. If there's enough demand, I reckon they'd do it.

    TV Tuner only works on side USB socket

    Is it the offical xbox tv tuner, i have that and it's working perfectly in the back USB port.

    Try uninstalling and then installing the tv app while the tuner is in the back port, that might help.
