TV showing blank screen when trying display modes higher than 480p

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been solved before, but I have tried to find an answer with no luck on this one.

I recently tried my xbox in a some different TVs to the two I usually use it with. Originally, it all seemed fine, and no problems were had. However, after a couple of times of swapping between these two TVs (a living room and bedroom) my xbox stopped working
on the living room TV, only showing a blank screen with no sound. after a period of working fine in the bedroom TV, it stopped working there., same problem.

On returning to using my original TVs (again, in the living room and the bedroom) I cannot get the bedroom one to display using the HDMI cable at all (only the basic scart Yellow, Red, White cable the xbox came with) and the living room TV is unable to display
any resolution higher than 480p, even tho other devices plugged in using the same cable, HDMI port can use the full range of resolutions. Bear in mind, the options are selectable, but having selected them, the screen goes blank for around 10 seconds, then
reverts to 480p.

I have tried using the display settings reset (press and hold power button for 10 seconds until lights stop flashing) to no avail. I have tried different cables, TVs and HDMI ports.

I am using the XBOX 360S console

Can anyone suggest what else I can try?

Xbox does not display in 1080p! HELP!

My xbox is displaying 480p, 720p, and 1080i. When I click 1080p in the settings the screen turns blank for like 10 seconds then it comes back but it displays in 1080i instead of 1080p. My TV is capable of 1080p, I played on 1080p using an HDMI cable but
then the HDMI port on the TV broke so I switched to component and it dosent display 1080p!

I really would appreciate some help on this one- my system is outsideof warranty and iI can't really afford the repair...

Sorry to hear about the display issues. It seems like you have already tried the majority of troubleshooting steps that I would recommend. As you have said, trying your console with different HDMI cables and TV's didn't resolve the issue, I recommend double
