    Hi

Please help! My Xbox One has suddenly stopped being recognised by my TV's HDMI ports.

It has worked perfectly fine until I left it to download the latest Gold games. When I've come back to it, it turns on but the TV says no device is connected. There is no picture and no sound, I don't even get the green screen. The only sound I do get is
the power up and power down chimes.

The HDMI cable is in the right port on the Xbox and I've tried it in different ports on the TV but nothing will work.

I've tried the cold reset, is there a fix for this or is my Xbox done for like the 360 RROD?

    :)

  2. Its there but it isn't

    Bought an xbox one S.

Connected it up and it woks OK, games, browser, downloads etc everything seems fine.

But when I go into the menu & check connections/inputs on the xbox it says no HDMI device detected.

So I started over from scratch & reconnect everything up to the TV & did a hard reset but it still says no HDMI device connected.

But its plugged into a LCD HDMI TV with the HDMI cable that came with the console, otherwise there would be no picture & just a black screen.

The ps3 & ps4 both detect the TV when connected through the same HDMI port, so does everything else that I have ever plugged into it but even though the xbox is up and is running it says it is not connected to a HDMI device.

    Any advice

    cheers

Could this have been caused by exceeding the storage capacity (I didn't have much space left on the 1TB hard drive before setting the Gold games to download)? Or could it be a broken HDMI port on the Xbox (not that it's been moved or knocked at all)?

  6. Good news Ace. I've found out what was causing the problem .

I'd followed all the advice I could find, even an offline factory reset using a laptop and USB stick. Turns out it is a dodgy HDMI port on the Xbox. The connection is really loose, I needed to stock the cable in and then lift it up a little, then carefully
slide the Xbox back to where it usually lives without disturbing the cable.

It's clearly a poor design on Microsoft's part, but at least I can use my Xbox again ... Just a shame that is wiped all of the data from it doing an unnecessary factory reset.

    Hope that helps!

XBox One X works only on 1 port out of all the devices i've tried to connect it to

    Hi again Omri

Try the following steps: Use a different HDMI cable.

    1. Check that the HDMI cable is properly connected to both devices.

    1) Turn off the TV and the source device.

    2) Disconnect the HDMI cable from both devices.

    3) Reconnect the HDMI cable to both devices.

    4) Turn on the TV and the source device.

    2. Try to connect the HDMI cable to another port on the TV or source device.

    1) Turn off the TV or source device.

    2) Disconnect the HDMI cable from the current port.

    3) Connect the HDMI cable to another port.

    4) Turn on the TV or source device.

    3. Connect another device to the same HDMI port to see if the problem persists.

    1) Turn off the TV.

    2) Connect another device to the HDMI port you are using.

    3) Turn on the TV.

If you have tried all of these solutions and still get the "HDMI not connected" message, there may be a problem with the TV or source device. In this case, you will need to contact the manufacturer's technical support for assistance.

    Xbox Won't Display On TV

Unfortunately that did not work. The screen is indicating its not even plugged into the TV (saying the hdmi isn't connected) but the cord is fine and works with other devices.
