TV recognizing entire Netflix app as HDR

The samsung tv that I just bought is recognizing the whole Netflix app as HDR. This is bad because not every movie or show in Netflix supports HDR(Which results in colors looking over saturated and bad). I would also like to specify that I am a computer
technician, this is not something caused by my TV. It is a problem with either the Netflix app, or the Xbox One S. It would be nice if this was fixed, considering it sounds like it has been a problem for a while. For a brand trying to push HDR advertising
with the Xbox One S, it may be a good idea to atleast have working apps that support it.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

Same issue for me

Open Netflix and HDR enables on my TV even though I haven't started any HDR content. Stays in HDR mode until I open another app or game.

This has been an issue since the Xbox One S came out and from what I’ve read Netflix says this is how the application is intended to work. I have a few issues with that statement.

1.) The colors are washed out and blurred. In no way would HDR improve a program that isn’t meant to run in HDR.

2.) This issue doesn’t happen on my PS4 Pro but Netflix hasn’t even added HDR yet so that is a bad example. My point is that I’m forced to use my PS4 which isn’t a good solution. But the real example is that my Smart TV and also from what I’ve read Roku
players don’t have the issue. I’d use my Smart TV but ever since the Marshmellow Update on my Bravia XBR930D every app has a slight to moderate audio/video sync issue. Netflix and Hulu being minor, Amazon being moderate and possibly major.

Please fix this. No other applications on Xbox suffer from this issue. I am very close to canceling my Netflix subscription and just using Hulu because this minor inconvenience is turning into a major issue now that it’s been over year.

 

I've been looking into getting better broadband and an HDR 4k tv so that I can watch Netflix. Hearing problems like this is making me reconsider this a fair bit. Can you not even disable HDR for Netflix, as that sounds preferable to these issues?

 

Ongoing issue. Hoping for a a fix but that lies with Netflix who don't seem too concerned.

 

I have the same issue with my sony X850e - it's really ****, Netflix doesn't care - I've talked to their support many times. Everything works great on my One X and my TV except for Netflix. Boots up and the entire App is HDR - dark, gray, and washed-out
colors. If I disable HDR on my tv or xbox and reset the app it looks/works fine.
