    TV input not recognized on start-up


    I recently purchased an Xbox One S to use mostly as a 4k Blu-ray player and have found a problem that is more annoying than a hinderance. I've discovered that if my TV is on and on a different input, it will not recognize the HDMI feed from the Xbox if the
    input is switched over AFTER the Xbox is turned on. In other words, if I switch the TV input THEN turn on the Xbox, everything works, but not after. I have a Vizio M65-D0 and this is the only device this happens to. Is there a setting that can be changed,
    or is it a glitch?

    Xbox One select correct receiver input?

    Instant on is set to turn on TV and open TV app. Occasionally, it will turn to my xbox360 input and will still show cable. A much improvement after I had changed the TV input name from 360-wii. The 360 is VGA don't know why the xbo would start up that input.
    I'm hesitant to change it from the TV's natural 'game' for the video settings.

    HDMI out to TV

    I would suggest using cable provided with unit and also run it to another unused hdmi input. I had issue yesterday on my tv where it recognized xbox one but not 360 using same input would display blank, no signal message. It makes me think there is more
    than to the hdmi connection than the older component connections. Just a suggestion .

    To start out, do you have HDMI-CEC enabled on your TV? If not, try enabling that to see if there's any change. Alternatively, if it's on, try turning it off.

    this might not be connected, but if I turn on my TV first then the Xbox I don't get a picture but if I turn on the Xbox then the TV I always get the Xbox start-up screen and everything is good.

    it could be that having the TV turn on with the Xbox is causing the TV to start momentarily before the Xbox and it isn't finding the signal.

    next time it happens, try cycling through the inputs on your TV so that it rechecks the HDMI input for the Xbox. if it is similar to what happens with my TV then it should show your Xbox screen when you get back to that input source.

    HDMI handshake problem

    On my TV it has to have a cable connected in order to cycle thru to that particular input whether digital or analog. Its not like the old TVs where u could just cycle thru every input when you hit the Source or TV/Video button. One thing i noticed on my
    TV that was diffrent when the xbox hdmi port was working properly was when my xbox was shut off but still hooked up i could switch to the HDMI input on my TV that it was connected to. Now the xbox has to be turned on in order for my TV to recognize that a
    cable is hooked up to that input and let me switch to it. Almost like there is no standby signal coming out of the xbox while its powered off anymore. Could anyone else with a TV that only cycles particular inputs that have a cable connected confirm whether
    they still have a Standby signal when the xbox is off. I am curious to hear from someone with a console with a working HDMI port and someone with a non working HDMI port. My PS3 hooked up with that same cable to the same port lets me switch to the right HDMI
    input while turned off so im pretty sure its not the cable or TV causing the issue.

    what resolution. And refresh rates are you trying to use and what is the model number of your TV?
