    Hey,

I am looking to upgrade my old 32 Samsung. I am crossed between two models.

    48' Samsung 1080 60ghz

    http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN48H...sr=8-1&keywords=48+h5500+smart+full+hd+led+tv

    Then a

    48' Vizio 1080 120ghz

    http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-E480i-B...=1417379194&sr=8-1&keywords=48+vizio+smart+tv

The differences are the ghz and from what I been reading ghz is not important as I been reading around. No games are supported by 120ghz. So don't know if I should get the Vizio to future-proof my set up. As for picture quality I have no experience with
Vizio. The lag input are both are pretty good. What do you guys think? Any other tv's you suggest under $500?

    :)

My controller doesnt do anything when i try to calibrate xbox 1 aspect ratio or brightness

You need to use your TV remote. That is designed to help you properly calibrate your TV, not the console.

    DarknezzFalls,

GHZ are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! If you can find to basically identical TV's, but one has a better GHZ rate, get that one! Even though most games do not run faster than 60, it will still help reduce motion blur. Hopefully this was helpful!

GHz means Giga Hertz, which is billions of cycles per second - not to be confused with the at most hundreds of Hertz TV's use. TV Help :)

LCD TV's with a higher refresh rate than 60 Hz typically use motion compensated frame interpolation, or MCFI for short, to calculate intermediate frames from the ones actually received. This allows for a reduction in motion judder (irregular motion or visible
overlapping of frames), but in order to do so they must delay the incoming signal by at least one frame plus necessary processing time, so that the existing frames can be analyzed for similarities and used for constructing the intermediate frames.

Although getting smoother motion is attractive, the delay can negatively impact the perceived responsiveness of games, in particular fast moving ones.

An ironic limitation of MCFI is that the faster things move, the greater the demands are on the system to be able track down the similarities farther away between frames. So during very fast motion, it isn't uncommon for the system to temporarily drop out
of performing motion interpolation and for motion judder to return. The result can look very distracting.

Another problem is that parts of the image which are concealed from one frame to another, such as content moving in from the edges or an object passing over the background, may cause the MCFI to lose the ability to determine how things are moving. This can
lead to moving objects getting halos of judder around them.

So, how good the MCFI is in a particular TV, and whether you can live with the increased input lag, is something you have to investigate before deciding on it. A higher refresh rate isn't necessarily going to help.
