    TV freezing


    I've had my Xbox One X since Christmas. All working fine until Friday, the TV out seems to freeze, at first on Friday/Saturday this was once every few minutes. Tonight when trying to watch tv, it's freezing every 10 seconds and the freeze lasts about 10
    seconds, unusable.

    I've taken my Audio receiver out of the path although this is fine when I bypass the xbox, I've cabled directly from my xbox to the tv, it freezes, if I go from my Cable box to TV, its fine, I've tried 3 different cables in different configurations and every
    time it fails through the xbox but works when bypassing.

    I've reset the Xbox a number of times and reset my Cable box similarly, I've reset the TV config and changed the refresh rate (curiously when I did that the freezes became less frequent at first but quickly ramped up again). I'm at a loss as I've not seen
    anyone else complaining about this symptom.

    The TV is what I use my xbox for plus a few apps and a couple of games for the kids, it's useless to me without the tv and oneguide. At the moment I've had to switch it off and go direct via my AV receiver.

    For info, I have a SONY STR DN1080 and Samsung UE55D8000

    Hoping someone will have a bright idea.

    TV Freezing

    This is an issue they are working on. When it happens you can do a hard reset by touching the xbox logo on the front of the console for a few seconds until it turns off. This will fix it temporarily.

    Try to always turn off the xbox when you are not using it. That seems to be helping me.

    Hi Firestormcom,

    Most of these kinda of freezes are in my experience (at least with media centers) caused by erroneous or

    data that the appliance dosen't understand sent by XBOX ONE / DVR / MEDIA vice versa via the CEC protocol.

    I would check my TV settings / DVR settings, and depending on band, Disable Smart Link, SimpLink, etc

    Here is a small list depending on the brand, and what to look for in your appliance:

    Samsung - Anynet+

    Sony - BRAVIA Link or BRAVIA Sync

    Sharp - Aquos Link

    Hitachi - HDMI-CEC

    AOC - E-link

    Pioneer - Kuro Link

    Toshiba - Regza Link or CE-Link

    Onkyo - RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI)

    LG - SimpLink

    Panasonic - VIERA Link or HDAVI Control or EZ-Sync

    Philips - EasyLink

    Mitsubishi - NetCommand for HDMI

    Runco International - RuncoLink

    Disable anything with that, and restart DVR, SAT, TV, XBOX or what you are using and give that a shot.

    Might not be that XBOX can control the DVR/SAT box thou, and you might need separate control. But thats way better than having a still picture :)

    TV Freezing

    As adam has mentioned you can do a power cycle to resolve this issue. Just hold the Xbox Console power button for 8 seconds until it turns off, then wait 30 seconds, then turn your console back on and it should be good to go. The power cycle will clear the
    cache and reset the network card. One of the Xbox Staff members has indicated it is a HDCP issue in relation to a passive authentication signal being sent through HDMI to verify the output signal being sent from the STB (Set top box aka Cable Box). He said
    they are working on this with their partners (cable providers) to help with a speedy resolution. What helps with a resolution is make/model and TV provider? So if you can please provide that it would save them the time of asking later. Thanks,

    HDMI Passthrough issues when using HTPC

    I'm having a similar problem. If I run live TV in Windows media center it works OK. If I drop out of wmc the screen will freeze. There are no issues if I plug the PC directly into my TV. The freezing is completely on the xbox one side.
