That's how you connect an xbox to a tv... am i missing something, how do you normally connect your xbox to the tv?

Make sure your hdmi cable is connected to the OUT port on the xbox one (next to power) and to an IN port on your tv's HDMI port.

Easy peasy.

5. If it has a DVI or VGA there are adapters for HDMI to those. They also make HDMI to Component converters but I have no experience with them.

6. You're either using a really old pre-HDMI HDTV, SD TV, or a monitor. If it does not have an HDMI port then you can not use it. If you have a monitor with a DVI port, you can buy a DVI-HDMI cable and plug a headset into the back of your Xbox One.

The tv is an older one with s-video and all of the component slots. I looked at some of the HDMI to component adapters but they seem to get mixed reviews and a lot of them clearly state they won't work with Xbox one. If anyone has experience using one,
I'd love to know which one.

Ive looked an if your TV is a standard def, which it sounds like it is, it may not work at all. It may be easier to pick up a cheap Vizio on sale. Or even cheaper go and pick up a computer monitor at a pawn shop, although with that option you'll have to
have separate sound.

I bought a cheap $20 or so dollar one from best buy and it works fine,I bought it so I could use my xbox one at a buddy's house. He has a old tube tv,it's a Panasonic and it supports up to 1080i. Find out online what your hd tv can support and if it has
at least 480p I think it should work,if not just return the dvi to hdmi connector.

Hope it works for you : )

Connecting One to a TV that has no HDMI Inputs
Hi, I'm new here and not sure where or how to post a new chat! I'm having problems with live TV. We have satellite TV but the receiver is in the TV (Samsung) and not a separate box. We have 2 HDMI cables but there is no out HDMI port on the tv to connect
to the in HDMI port on the xbox one to connect the live tv. Is anyone able to help?
Unfortunately there is no way to connect the internal Receiver of the TV to the Xbox One for TV functions,

.

The HDMI IN on the Xbox One is designed to work with Satellite or Cable TV which involves having a separate box that normally connects to the TV with an HDMI cable.

HDCP error code on LG OLED C9 tv with Xbox one S

Hi JonathanRenk,

Can I ask how have you got your Xbox One connected to your TV? Consider the following:

If using a soundbar/AV receiver/HDMI ARC try connecting the HDMI to the TV and use a TOSlink/optical cable to connect audio to the audio equipment.

Also check the HDMI ports in your TV manual, not all of them could be HDCP compliant and you may need to switch HDMI ports.

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on. :)

HDMI not working, was previously fine.

Hi everyone! I am so pleased that there are others who are experiencing the same problem I have with my xbox and tv.

I have used the hdmi cable to play xbox on a big screen for about 4 months and then suddenly one day I tried it and the xbox would not connect to the tv via hdmi. I used the same hdmi cable afterward to connect my laptop to the tv and it worked. Later I
connected the xbox with the same hdmi to a small screen tv and it worked.

The issue seems to be that the xbox cannot connect via hdmi to the big screen only but can connect via hdmi to other tv's. This is the most frustrating issue that i have never experienced with my ps3 or laptop. I feel really glad to know though that other
xbox users are experiencing the same issue.

If I learn how to resolve this issue, I will surely be back to notify you how i do so. I am currently taking steps to turn in my xbox for repair to see if it works.

Dolby Atmos erorr 0x80bd0009.

With your setup Atmos cannot.be setup through HDMI. For this to work the sound passes through your tv (HDMI ARC to TV and then TV to sound system) which you said your tv doesn't support. Btw the Xbox doesnt support ARC connections either. The only
way this is going to work is if it is supported by your tv as it must pass through your tv. Unfortunately optical connection doesn't support Atmos either.
can you help me? because I have connected consoles for soundbar up to hdmi 1 and soundbar connected to tv using hdmi arc and still do not have sound Dolby atmos, the same message pops up. write me what should I do? and is it the fault of the microsoft?
