    Resolution is limited to 640x480 sometimes 1080p. The real "solution" to this issue is to turn on TV or Xbox Series X, then wait ~30 seconds, THEN turn on the 2nd device (TV or XB, whichever was not turned on first). Restarting the Xbox as mentioned in the insider notes does nothing really, i.e. if I restart my Xbox too soon after my TV was turned on then I will still have to boot my Xbox until the 30 second "delay" that needs to be, before TV and XB can do proper handshake.

    One user pointed out the issue was resolved with a newer Xbox series x then day 1 edition (console replaced but kept the same TV). This could explain the limited amount of users who reported the problem, but there is probably a lot of dark numbers hidden. I.e. I have never reported this for support yet I had this issue for years. Because I know if I call XB support they will tell me to change HDMI cable, etc. etc. Stuff I know won't fix the issue, and I'm not even sure XB support will know what handshake issue means. End of rant.

    Hmm, I have a YSP-2200, it's a little different than the 4000 though. I also have an older white xbox. I tried Display Discovery, but that didn't make a difference

    It appears that the TV update fixed this issue. Also all display options are still enabled on the Xbox and everything works now.

    Considering that my Xbox worked in place of hers prior to the TV update, I expected the fault to lie with her Xbox. Apparently that wasn't the case.

    Either way, I would not have looked at updating the TV had you not mentioned it, so thank you for your guidance!

    Sorry you're having issues with your Xbox displaying correctly. I would first try a different cable like you mentioned up top. As you said a different port on your TV does not work, do you have another TV to test with? If the Xbox works with the same HDMI
    cable on another TV then you know it's likely your TV HDMI ports, If the Xbox work with a different TV and a different cable, then you know it could just be a bad cable. If you test the Xbox on another TV and it doesn't work at all or displays the red bits
    then it could be a faulty Xbox, and I would recommend doing a repair below.
