TV box only works if xbox is ON or power cord from xbox is unplugged

The first thing to check is how many devices you have connected to the same power circuit. If you're using a power board on one power switch that has many devices connected to it, the console may not be getting the specific power it requies to function properly.

Try the console on a separate power outlet without any other devices connected to it.

Try Resetting the console power supply.

I have the xbox plugged into the wall outlet.

Ive tried resetting the power supply.

It works the first time after turning off my xbox. But then when I turn it on to play, and back off.

The issue comes back.

Try holding the power button for ten seconds then restart it. If that dont work try checking the cord to the tv from the xbox unplug a replug it in.

No its not the sat box it does not turn everything on TV surround sat box. As soon as I unplug power from Xbox and plug it in it works and turns everything on again it works for awhile then have to unplug it again!

I was having the same issue after the XB1 and my Cable box working fine since launch day. My solution was to power down the Xbox and then unplug the power cord. Simply powering the system down does not fully reset the hardware, it just goes into a sleep
mode. Unplugging the power cord for 20 seconds and then re-powering the Xbox seemed to fix this issue.
