    TV and kinect won't work.....console issue?


    My TV stopped registering through my One recently. It says we lost your cable signal which is the same thing it says if the cable box is off. I unplugged the cable from the One and plugged directly into TV and it's fine.

    It also says my Kinect is unplugged when it is clearly plugged right in.

    I reset the One and unplugged it and started it up again and nothing. I'm thinking it might be a console failure since both center around inputs on the back of the unit.

    Anyone experience anything like this?

    Hey there, Alice1408!

    I'm sorry to see any app issues! Sounds like you might be in the UK based on the apps you've got. If that's the case, you will need to make sure your

    console's locale     is set to your region. These apps can have issues if they are trying to be used on a console that has a mismatched region.

    If your console is set to the UK, you'll want to make sure that your internet connection is good. These apps can take a lot of resources on the console, including some bandwidth requirements to stream TV shows. I would suggest following the steps in our

    streaming troubleshooter     to see if that helps you out.

    If you're still having issues after that, I would have you try the console at a different internet connection, just to completely rule out any network issues. Lastly, a

    factory reset     may be in order.

    Kinect issue, but kinect not the problem

    I have 3 xbox ones, each with kinect. One of my consoles stopped accepting voice commands from its kinect. I switched the kinect with another console. The kinect is fine on another console.

    I have recalibrated the kinect on the console that wouldn't work. It calibrated perfectly. Console still won't take voice commands.

    I disconnected everything and reconnected it. Console still won't take commands from the kinect.

    The console does show the camera, but it does not hear any of my voice commands. Again, the kinect works perfectly on another console.

    Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    I apologize I should've said.

    I have the xbox and the Kinect. I need to hook up the console to my new Vizio 4k tv. The wires that came with the console won't work with my new TV. Is there some type of adapter I can get?

    Posting as well to follow here. I have the One S with a kinect plugged in. It toggles my soundbar and controls volume fine but won't control my Samsung TV (model # UN65HU8700FXZA) at all. At first before I got the kinect adapter I thought the IR blaster
    on the One S was being blocked in my cabinet but it was controlling the soundbar right under the TV fine as well as not working on the TV without obstructions. Now I have the kinect plugged in and I'm not sure which part is sending the IR commands, the front
    of the console or the kinect, but it's still not working.

    Xbox One S Issues

    Hey, its with Kinect. I've fiddled with the connections and to make sure the USB is secure, which it is.

    The other issue, with black screen, seems to be around the HDMI. I've switched off UHD Color setting on the HDMI port on the TV and it seems to be working.

    However, with the Kinect switch on, I think my Xbox is having issues, when I get the Xbox on, I get logged in via Kinect but it won't connect to Xbox Live. It won't even search for networks half of the time.

    It won't change channels, what Xbox one need is a universal control remote to access the cable or the converter box. Kinect works with my tv only.

    So I've gone through every troubleshooting step with Microsoft and the final verdict is that my off brand Sanyo TV is simply not fully compatible with the kinect sensor. They said some TVs just won't work.
