    Turtlebeach X04 mic not working on X1


    Got some XO fours for Christmas and updated the controller via the USB cable as advised. I can hear game sound and my friends in party chat but they cannot hear me. The little green indicator in chat does not light up to show the mic is picking up any sound.
    When i plug the audio adapter out of the controller, kinect picks up my voice fine. I borrowed my mates audio adapter in case mine was faulty but it was the same. I'm fairly sure the headset is not defective because I used it to make a call on my mobile phone
    and the person on the other end could hear me fine.

    I have "re-updated" the controller but still no joy. I also tested to see if it worked in Skype on xbox one but no luck.

    I am suspecting a software issue rather than hardware (but can't be certain). Doesn't seem to be many solutions online so you guys are my last hope!

    also does anyone know a good headset thats $120 preferably turtlebeach or tritons and not the turtlebeach x12s already have those and the mic broke 1st month

    Mic not working on X1 S

    hi all,

    Just wondering if Anyone can help me here because quite frankly I'm really stuck and now confused!

    So I got a new xbox 1 S for Xmas which was awesome, currently had just. a normal Xbox 1... I now have moved everything over to the S .. playing online with friends in party chat my mic is not working at all! Surely my Xbox headset which is from Microsoft
    (Xbox stereo headset) will work. When I connect it to all my controllers that is synced and all fully updated on the S in the top right hand corner shows the headset symbol. Again when I'm in party chat I have a headset on my name, I can hear people speak
    and in game play however when I speak nothing. This is with and without the adapter provided...(new controller has a jacks port). I have checked all settings, volume output, network setting, parental settings all to be correct. My mic is working as I have
    tried it on YouTube on my iPad using the voice option and WhatsApp without having to repeated myself and clear play back.

    Really frustrated if I knew it was going to be this much trouble I would of stuck with the original X1. If anyone has ideas or knows how to fix this issue it would be grately appreciated.

    xbox one headset on a budget £50-60

    I have turtle beach x04s and they perform pretty good. My only real complaint would be that there is no Mic feedback(to hear yourself when you talk) and the removable mic doesn't bend at all. I've heard good things about the x42s also.

    I ended up buy an adapter(custom made) on eBay to use my TurtleBeaches. I will let you know how it does when it gets here. I also bought a optical to A/V adapter. The mic and sound will work once it gets here. It is a wired a TurtleBeach too btw...
