When we say party we mean voice chat party, which is separate to the game party/team that you are playing with. To talk to the whole team you could use game chat, or to talk with just your friend you would use party chat while still being the team with

Yes, Just follow the steps Drifter provided. If you want the party to just be you and your friend be sure to set it to "invite only"

create a party and only invite that one player.

When you are in a party, just mute the players you don't want to talk to.

Thanks Drifter and Choppy - going into a challenge as a two person party would be pretty tough with the opposing team having 4 or 5 team members wouldn't it? I am fairly new to the game but my friend and I always join parties and I am seeing four or five
on each team. Is there ways to even the odds having more players on our team but only chat with my friend?
