Turtlebeach 70x headset not working

My son has a Xbox One and uses a wireless remote with a headset adaptor and Turtle beach ear force recon 70x headset. The question I have is why do we need the adaptor? It just went and we need to get a new one but the headset has a 3.5 mm jack that should
work fine without the adaptor but only does occasionally. I just get tired of buying one of the three due to my 9 year old being a little rough with them. Thanks!

There is not much else you can do except replace the part that is damaged/failed.

The problem itself is not with the xbox, so there is not much we can tell you, but you could check if the headset does not have any false contact

The model of the headset is a ear force recon 70x and the connection is through the 3.5mm Jack.

I have turtlebeach x31 and xc1 headsets. Turtlebeach is the best. Xbox unfortunetly make crappy headsets. Fact. Turtlebeach are the best. Just avoid getting the really old models. I tried the xbox bluetooth wireless headset. Had to shout into it for it to
pick up my voice

What logitech headset are you talking there is a quite a bit of wireless headsets that work well with the xbox, Astro's turtlebeach ect. Am sure there might be a way to get it working depending on the model.
