TURTLE BEACH X42 HEADSET ADAPTER PROBLEMS!!!

I am having issues with my new chat adapter!? I purchased it from gamestop about a week ago. I own a pair of Turtle Beach X42 . The audio from game sounds great but once i either try to join a party or just chat the headset goes crazy?!? It does have
a cracking sound but even more annoying is that i cant control the chat audio from the headset cord like i always had!? In order to turn the chat volume down i have to turn down the game volume also? I used to be able to control these independently!! my game
audio is controlled by both chat cord and the headset ? If i have it tuned all the way up the chat is crazy loud! And its a battle of game noise or chat PLEASE FIX

XBox One headset adaptor - I get NO chat audio

I specificallygot the X42's because Turtle Beach said those were compatible. Also my brother just purchased the new Turtle Beach XO ones or something like that. Came with the adapter, his doesn't work either.

If my headset didn't work, then why can they hear me in the game?

 

Ok buddy sounds like you don't have a problem just need some help on how to use your adapter. Pretty much the volume buttons on the adapter controls the overall volume. If you want more game audio simply tap the button with the game controll symbol on it.
If you want more chat sound tap the party symbol.

 

I'm having same on x41s

No control on white chat cord and adaptor..waste of 20.00

 

Please tell me how to hook up the x42. Just bought today and they don't sound great. I have the optical going from the receiver to the xbox. Is that the right way.

*Please note that you will need to connect this headset using optical out (S/PDIF) for game audio and use the Kinect® for game chat with Xbox One.
