Turtle Beach X41 - Volume Issue

Hi All:

I have a pair of TB X41's. Great headset, however, since connecting to the xbox one, I have not been able to control game/tv vs. chat volume. Furthermore, if I am watching TV, the default volume is so loud I can't hear any chat. In fact the volume is so loud
I can't use them (and this is with volume at a minimum.

In many games I have the same issue. Although, some I can turn down all the volume sliders to 10% - 20% and then with the headset volume at minimum I am able to hear chat.

Anyone know a solution? Or is this just the way it is.

Issue with Xbox Stereo Headset Adapter and the Astro A40s

Same issue with the Turtle Beach x41 - Chat volume is extremely low and I have to nearly turn game volume down all the way to hear people. My friends have reported poor quality voice coming from my headset.

Sorry to hear about the audio issue! Is your headset plugged into the optical audio port on the Xbox One console or in our Stereo Headset Adapter through the controller?

 

"Good" to read, because i ve exactly the same issue with exactly the same headset. This headset is plugged into the optical audio port (sound) and into the stereo headset adapter, too (chat).

Chat is full at full volume and the sound at minimum. Nevertheless chat is only to hear when outside of action (BF4) and sound is so loud that you might think your head will explode! :/

 

I've got this exact problem with my TB PX51 headset. I picked up the chat adapter today to get the chat working but now my volume is so loud feels like my head is going to explode. My headset is plugged into the optical port of my xbox. Seems my chat volumes
control my game volume and i'm not sure how to correct the issue. when i lower the volume to a listenable level I hear no chat. To hear chat, game volume is maxed and hurts to listen to. Anyone have any ideas.

 

I got an email from TB,

"The Xbox One Update has to be applied to your Xbox One controller and console before your Turtle Beach headset will work properly. This update is supplied by Microsoft Corp., not by Turtle Beach.

The headsets themselves do not have firmware to be updated. The update is for the Xbox One Controller and Adapter to allow chat and/or game audio to be sent from the controller.

Your headset may get some sound from the Xbox One controller, even before you apply the update. However, the sound may be distorted or not work at all. To get the best experience from your Turtle Beach headset, you'll need to update the controller before
using your Turtle Beach headset."
