Turtle Beach X12 Headset: Any way to use with Xbox One?

    Hi there,

here is a diagram to help connect the TB X12s to an Xbox One controller >
    http://www.turtlebeach.com/vendors/console-compatibility/images/setups/Xbox-One-Compatability-x12.jpg?imgVersion=1.1

As is shown there, the use of an Xbox One adapter is suggested. However, as your controller has the 3.5mm jack and also in the interest of saving money, you can simply purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable (these are extremely cheap). Here's the cable
you'll need: Shop Android - #1 Store for Android Phone Accessories

Once you have the cable, simply plug the 2.5mm male chat plug into the 2.5mm female end of the 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter cable. Then plug the male 3.5mm plug into your controller and you're good to go!

    Good luck!

@watch7ower you seem to know your stuff, so I'm going to hijack this thread a little.

I have the PX22 headset. I have the USB connector in my laptop (running Elgato so I can stream) and the 3.5mm connector in my controller. Laptop detects my voice fine but party chat doesn't work. I can hear them, they can't hear me.

My inline amp output to two cables -- USB and 3.5mm male. Do I forgo using that 3.5mm male connector, and instead, buy a 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male, plus my headset into the 3.5mm female, and plus the 2.5mm male into the Controller port on my PX22's inline
amp? I'm trying to get both PC and party chat to hear me.

    Thanks!

    Hi there, Omnes!

Your post made me smile because I am in fact running the exact same setup (TB PX22s connected to PC via USB to use them as a mic for streaming with Elgato with them also connected to my controller for voice chat with teammates).

So, first we'll talk about the inline amp's two output cables you mentioned:

    1) USB to PC which powers the inline amp itself and also allows the PC to detect the PX22s as a mic source.

    2) 3.5mm male - you can usually forego this altogether but it can be useful if you're looking to boost your overall audio output. If the monitor or TV you play on has a has a headphone jack, plug the 3.5mm male connector into that port. You should instantly
notice a significant boost in sound from your headset when the 3.5mm male connector has been plugged into your TV/monitor and the source which is being fed audio/video from your Xbox (e.g "HDMI 1") is what's currently on-screen.

When you switch to a different source on your monitor (e.g. PC input), you may or may not lose the audio boost you are getting from the console but should still be getting normal-level audio (game/chat) if your headset is connected to the controller (as
that's where our headsets now receive audio).

With this setup, you gain additional control over your game and voice audio levels via the PX22 inline amplifier (like we were able to use when playing on the Xbox 360). You can still change audio levels using the Xbox One headset adapter (if you have one)
or via the console's settings under 'controllers and devices' if using the new controller which has a dedicated 3.5mm port.

The benefit of using this headset with Xbox One is that it would allow you to have the voice feedback feature ("mic monitoring") again (where you can hear your own voice a little while talking to ensure you aren't too quiet or too loud). This was present
on Xbox 360 and is now available through the use of the new Xbox One controllers (which have a dedicated 3.5mm port).

The headset adapter cancels this feature out, so this setup would be perfect for you if you aren't using the new controller. This feature should be available to you regardless of whether you connect the 3.5mm male from the inline amp itself into your monitor/TV
or not (as it is being provided by the powered inline amp to your headset).

For the purpose of getting chat to work correctly so your friends can hear you - you've already got the right cable in mind. You're going to require a 2.5mm to 3.55mm cable (male to male). The connections will go as follows:

    - PX22 Headset 3.5mm male cable into PX22 amplifier 3.5mm female port.

    - 2.55mm male connector (from the 2.5 to 3.5mm male to male cable) into PX22 amplifier 2.5mm female controller port.

    - The 3.5mm end of the 2.5 to 3.5mm male to male cable into your headset adapter's 3.5mm female port (or directly into the controller's 3.5mm female port if you have the new controller).

Here is the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable I purchased (official TB variant):

    UK:
    www.amazon.co.uk/.../B00GFT53U2

    US:
    www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_1

It works perfectly! Using this cable will give you game audio and full voice chat capabilities (you hear teammates, they hear you), as well as still being able to use it with your PC and Elgato as a mic for streaming.

You can mute your mic using the switch on the amplifier or headset adapter, and I'll go over some of the other controls here as they can be slightly confusing at first.

The "bass" and "treble" controls won't do anything because the audio is being received through the controller into the headset - not from the console to headset with the use of the left and right RCA cables as on the Xbox 360. You can balance audio levels
and game/voice chat through the headset adapter (or do the same through the console settings if using a new controller and therefore no adapter with buttons to press).

The rest of the controls are the same as before -the inline amp's main audio control (left) will boost your game volume a significant amount. The chat control in the middle will let you adjust the chat levels (friends/teammates voices) and the control on
the right lets you adjust the mic monitoring feature. Play around with the controls on the inline amp and on the headset adapter or console settings to find the right balance for you.

Apologies for the long post, just wanted to make sure I had covered all the bases. If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to post again.

    Good luck!

Thanks so much, I appreciate the thoroughness of your post -- no need to apologize for the length! I had read that the integrated 3.5mm male connection wasn't necessary but was having a hard time coming to terms with that.

I have one of the older controllers but purchased the stereo headset adapter. So, just to be clear, I'm going to leave the integrated 3.5mm male connector unconnected, but connect the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable you linked (just ordered it from Amazon) from the
inline amp to the stereo headset adapter. This should allow my party to hear me again, correct?

    Thanks again!

Turtle Beach X12 Headset: Any way to use with Xbox One?

Hey, yes that's correct! Turtle Beach X12 Headset: Any way to use with Xbox One? :)

2.5mm end of the cable into the inline amp port with the controller icon above it and 3.5mm end into the headset adapter and you'll be all set. Remember to adjust game/voice levels on both the inline amp and headset adapter (though as you aren't using the
integrated 3.5mm connection, you may not be able to adjust anything on the amplifier at all).

Let me know how it goes!
