Turtle Beach PX3 Sound Quality Issues

This is my first post on the Xbox forums, but I need some guidance with the issue I am currently facing.

I am currently using a Turtle Beach PX3 headset with my Xbox One, I have purchased the Headset Audio Adapter and the sound quality is, quite honestly, terrible. I hope it's due to some settings I need to change and not the software in the console and adapter.
The headset sounds fine on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 but no matter what I change, the sound quality on Xbox One is always muffled and distorted.

Hopefully someone can guide me through whatever process it may be in order to get the best sound quality from this next generation console.

I did have the turtle beach x41's about a year ago but they interfered with my router so I sold them.

2. For the Turtle Beach headset, yes. For the Astros, I am using the Astro supplied adapter.

I've had a look at the product set-up guide on
www.turtlebeach.com/console-compatibility for that headset, and it looks like you're using a wireless receiver for audio?

Could you check that everything is connected correctly per that page and, if so, perhaps try using your console on a wired Ethernet connection to see if there's wireless signals clashing which are causing the sound distortion. If it persists, also try connecting
your controller to the console via a microUSB cable so that the controller's WiFi Direct radio is switched off too.

I've setup the headset in way that the diagram showed me and I have also connected my controller to the Xbox, but there still seems to be a low level of sound quality.

 

Hey there, VRC Boosted! One thing that I want to make sure you've done is
update your controller with the headset adapter plugged in and the battery pack out. Try this for me and post back if you're still getting poor audio through your headset.

 

I've updated my controller and I still get the muffled low quality noise. It's not awful but it certainly isn't Surround Sound.

 

Thanks for letting me know, VRC Boosted. Would you say that there is a crackling or popping noise that you hear, or is it simply muffled?

 

It's definitely a muffled noise, I compare the sounds coming from the headset to the sounds coming straight through my TV. The TV sound quality is very crisp and clear, while the headset quality seems to be far away, muffled and sometimes distorted.

 

Are you able to try it with another/friend's adapter or a 360 possibly? I want to rule out the adapter. The 360 should be last resort as it takes the console out of the equation, too.

 

It works on my Xbox 360, my PS3 and my PC. They all have great crisp sound quality. It's just the Xbox One that doesn't like it. If it helps I have seen a tiny improvement in sound quality since I've properly set up the headset. But not to the standard I
expected from the Xbox One.

 

Sounds to me like it might be the adapter, then. My only suggestion at this point is replace it or wait to see if we release another controller update for it. I'm sorry we can't get it fully fixed!

 

Ok thanks, I guess I'll just have to hope they release an update soon. If not I'm thinking of buying a pair of Astro A40's soon so it's not a big deal. Thanks for the support and advice!

 

I'm having what I think is the same, or a similar problem with my set of X41's. I did all the things that Turtle beach said to and the echo & poor quality of sound continues. Everything sounds perfect when the volume is down on the adapter..... but when
you raise the volume to hear the in-game or party-chat, the quality of the overall sound degrades to the sound of a clock radio speaker. And in addition, everything echo's as stated above. I ensure you, all settings are correct. C'mon support..... let's get
this straight?
