Turns on but no home screen

At first my Xbox One started up fine and I tried to play Destiny. It hung on the title screen and did not offer the usual notice (Press A to play). I tried to use xbox store as well as twitch tv and those failed to work also. I attempted a power cycle and
now I can't even get to the home screen. It still turns on and off via the controller, but all the screen shows is a small xbox logo in the upper right corner. This thing is only two months old and I am pretty bummed. Shoulda went with sony?

Home Button Not Working

My home button no longer brings up the side panel on the screen or brings me to the home screen. It will turn the console on and off, but now when I press it as I normally would to bring up that panel (to access my friends or avatar), it merely dims the
screen. Also, selecting my profile button on the home screen only dims the screen.

Sounds like you will need this:

support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-solution

But first try to press, with console on the power button for some 6 seconds and then when turns off, disco the power cable from the back of the console for 10 seconds, then reconnect it
