try connecting it to a standard outlet or just connect it to d different outlet. If you still have the same issues, you will have to call xbox support because you might have a faulty console

Every one I know has a different opinion on this. Some even say it's better to leave it on forever. lol

Good luck trying to decide what's best FOR YOU.

I turn it off with the controller and then unplug it as soon as the white light on the console stops blinking. It's usually like 6 seconds or so. I do this every single time and I play almost every single night since launch.

  7. ^I worked as a service tech for years... and I have to say that the most common opinion seemed to be that unplugging a device vs leaving it plugged in is a bit of a crap shoot. Fact is, yes, every time you plug in a device it can get a surge, that isn't
good for it. Most devices (Xbox One included) have some kind of surge protection built in.

However, if you live in an area that is known to have frequent power grid fluctuations or a less stable power grid, it may be just as bad to leave it plugged in... albeit (IMO) less likely.

I have mine in Energy Save mode. Almost anyone who has ever had an issue with their Xbox One will be told to do a 'hard reset' before anything else. It's the go to first fix. Using the Energy Save mode pretty much 'soft resets' the console every time you
turn it off. I have had very few of the problems I see commonly mentioned on these forums... and I attribute much of that to Energy Save. Although I doubt it will cause a lot of issues if you do want to use Instant On... I'd just make sure to do a reboot on
a regular basis if I did.

    Turning Xbox one off

I leave mine in standby I like the benefits of automatic updates which you can't get if it's completely off

I also usually buy a game then turn machine 'off' while it downloads which isn't possible if not in standby

    Turning Xbox one off

It just didn't listen in standyby mode no matter how loud or how many times I said "XBOX ON" so I turned it to instant on ; P

I unplug it because I put it away so my kids can't touch it. Keeping it plugged in all the time gives it more of a change of getting a bad surge if there is a storm or something. I've been doing this with games consoles for like 30 years and never had an
    issue.
