    Turning on my Xbox 360 controller wired with my PC turns on my console.


    I wired my Xbox 360 controller with my PC, and turned it on, but apparently, my console turned on too. Is this supposed to happen? I was thinking, that if the controller is wired with a pC, it shouldn't turn the console on.

    Using my controller with my PC.

    I need to turn on my controller without turning on my xbox. I'm trying to sync it with my PC. I have a USB connector I'm using so the controller is directly hooked up with my PC with a wired connection. The drivers were properly installed when I hooked up
    the USB. I just need to know how to turn on my controller without my xbox. Please help.

    "How to turn on/off your Xbox 360 console and wireless controller" According to this section in the support I should be able to hit the start button on my controller and it should ignore the Xbox, but when I hit the start button it still turns on my xbox.

    I would appreciate any help.

    The Play & Charge cable is only used to power the controller and charge the Play & Charge battery pack. It does not carry data. It cannot be used to make a wireless
    controller into a wired controller.

    It doesn't really matter if the PC/Laptop has Bluetooth or not though. The user is trying to get the controller to work with a wire, which worked before, and is the same wire I'm using. My PC doesn't have Bluetooth.

    I already stated earlier that the Play and charge for the Xbox One also sends data, and it can turn a wireless controller into a wired controller. Only the 360 play and charge is just a charger.

    Thanks for the help. I turned off the console and the controller, turned on the Xbox 360 again and turned on the new controller and it allowed me to sign in with my xbox live account/profile.

    App wont turn console on

    my xboxone wont turn on from my control pad. i have to manually power on the console and then hard wire my control pad to get it recognized. it works normally after that. my console also no longer powers on my tv when i turn it on even tho it is set to do
