    Turning off online hacking

Will I lose anything other than my notoriety skills if I turn off the online hacking? I am currently starting the first mission in Act 2 and I have unlocked many skills and acquired several good weapons and I don't want to lose them. Thanks for your help.

    :)

    Turning off online hacking

Any online XP progress will reset to 0 if you turn off online hacking.

Personally, I have it on, and haven't gotten hacked in ages. It seems like the only time I ever get hacked is if I hack a "Blume employee" in the game and allow that person to call in and "report" me.

I tried the online hacking several times and didn't find it interesting. I want to be able to free roam without any interruptions and I've been hacked a lot over the past 2 days. I find it annoying as heck!

It looks like it just resets your XP and notoriety points, your progress on hacked players for the achievement still seems to stay there according to the completion bar in the Achievements app, and in no way affects the solo play =D

  7. I have noticed that I am regularly getting hacked in the middle of a police chase. Is there anything I can do about that? It's impossible to run down a hacker and evade the police.

I shut it off. My notoriety was reset. But you gradually get it back. I was one who found it annoying. Some people may like it. but if you don't, the only way is to shut it off.

  10. I like it, more often than not you can find them, it's a novel feature of the game to have some cat and mouse.

I am frustrated by the people who camp in an area with a single point of entry waiting to blow their IED when you climb the stairs - not classy / sporting

I think I accidentaly found a way around not having to turn off online hacking and losing your XP and notoriety points. Yesterday, after the update for the game downloaded I got disconnected from xbox live and I played the game for 3 hours while disconnected
and no online hacking occurred. Same thing this morning, I signed out of xbox live before loading the game and I played the game for 2 hours with no annoying interruptions.

  12. How much online hacking/tailing you did recently (for whatever reason) has an impact on how often you can get targeted for invasions. Your 'online hacking defense' may also have a factor in it, because people, in my mind, want to try to avoid others that
have a strong or very strong defense, as those players have stopped most of the attempts against them.

    Turning off online hacking

Your right KilroyJenkinz, this is my second play through and on my first I didn't do any online hacking and I was only hacked 2 times during the whole campaign. I decided that I would try more online for my second play through and it seems to have opened
up the flood gates for others to attempt to hack me. Very annoying.

Also, I noted in an earlier post that I thought I found a way around not having to turn off online hacking and losing your XP and notoriety points by signing out of xbox live. Well it worked the first two days but now I can't play unless I load a profile.
