Turning it on problems

Hi, I’m having problems trying to turn on my Xbox One S. Those problems would be:

When I turn it on, the HDMI cable doesn’t show the menu

When I tried to turn it off with just 1 press of the button, it did the sound but it doesn’t turn off the console and I have to hold the button up to 5 seconds

I checked if the power adapter or the HDMI cable had problems, but they didn’t

Before this happened, I was trying to log in into Overwatch, but it crashed like 15 times and it wouldn’t let me get in

After that, I checked my WiFi connection and the console crashed the moment I entered the settings menu

I need to know the cause and how to fix it

Problems when turning on.

Hi Jamie unfortunately I can't directly help you with resolving your issue however next time you console starts with a black screen before restarting the console try pressing and releasing LT , RT & Y buttons all together on the controller to force the dashboard
to refresh and hopefully get your dashboard back without needing to restart the console.

Problems when turning on.

Hi,

Can anyone help advise please?

Since yesterday when I turn on my Xboxone it starts up normally, but then the screen goes black (I can still hear sound).

If I turn the Xboxone off and then back on again it all seems to work fine.

Has anyone ever encountered this?

edit: I managed to fix the power on problem, the hdmi cable now registers something, but the screen is black and I can’t hear any Xbox sound effects

Sorry to hear about your problem.

But if you just purchased the console, the best option would be to return it and exchange it for another console.

The sounds you are hearing are probably indications to a system breakdown. Better t play it safe than having to have it serviced later.
