Turn on TV via Xbox

    Turn on TV via Xbox


    After the most recent update, my Xbox will not turn on/off my TV. Everything else works fine.

    I tried resetting my TV in the Xbox Settings. Xbox says it automatically identified my TV and remote code, but nothing happens when I turn the xbox one on or off

    opinions on leaving on and tv app!!!

    Silent so when you turn the tv off via the xbox the tv light goes off. the dvr light goes off and the ONE light goes off?

    And then simply saying XBOX ON it turns on then say tv on the tv and dvr turn on?

    Voice turn off issue

    I have the xbox one with a sky box connected to an LG tv. when i say xbox on, the xbox turns everything on. the voice commands also work for volume and mute. However, xbox turn off, will only turn the xbox off, leaving the sky box and tv on. I then have
    to turn the tv and sky boxes off via remote. any tips so i can get the xbox to turn it all off with voice commands

    Is your console enrolled in the Insider Preview program?

    Also, do you have a Xbox One S or X with the internal IR blaster, or is your console an original Xbox One with Kinect attached?

    Also try to check if the console actually sends IR commands by doing the following: Start up the camera app on your smartphone, and point it to the IR blaster window on the lower right of the console, or the area next to the Xbox logo on the Kinect.

    Try to send a command like volume up/down or actually turning the console off or on. You should see an infrared LED blinking inside the IR blaster window or next to the Xbox logo in the Kinect (it'll look like a purple LED on your camera screen). Do you
    see the console actually sending the command?

    No that's pretty much correct, the Xbox one doesn't always turn my TV on or off. I know that there's also a DirecTV issue but you guys are addressing that. For my TV, when I turn it off at night with a verbal command, occasionally Xbox will turn the TV
    off. I'll have to turn the TV off manually on the set or via remote. Actually the bigger issue is the TV not coming on with the verbal Xbox on command. And it's really more than that, it appears that the Xbox gets my TV stuck and I can't turn the TV on
    manually, on the set or via remote, when the Xbox is on. the past few days I have discovered that if I turn the Xbox on and it doesn't turn the TV on I have to turn the Xbox off and then turn the TV on manually followed by the voice on command for the Xbox.
    And occasionally, after performing those steps, the Xbox will come on and then automatically turn the TV off and I'll have to start all over again. To me, and I'm certainly not tech savvy, its almost like the Xbox gets stuck sending the signal to my TV or
    locks up the signal somehow. Powering down doesn't always fix these issues. I have re-linked the remote several times now in hopes of solving the issue but it hasn't.

    sometimes my tv switches on via xbox being turned but not sure how to make it constant, great idea btw!

    Audio Problems

    try unplugging the HDMI cable from your Xbox AND from your TV.

    Turn you TV on WITHOUT it connected.

    Turn your TV off, reconnect everything & try again.

    If not, try a different cable, or try connecting via componnent & see if you have sound.
