How do I turn off the home button guide? I just want to go home when I press the home button on my xbox one controller. the new menu just adds extra steps to get to the home screen. Where is the option to turn this off?

    :)

Yeah....have to hit the guide button a few times at times and minecraft is a disaster to try and resume.

Keep hoping that a new update will smooth things out, it seems the more they add the slower it gets

Hate to turn off instant on as I often start downloads from work so they're done when I get home

Turn off Xbox One controller on PC using wireless adapter?

    Hi buddy,

All you need to do is hold the guide button on the controller until it turns off. Takes about 10-12 seconds.

    Hey, Thebrianbryan!

We’re taking the most popular multitasking experiences gamers are using today and building them directly into the Guide on a new start page. The updated guide is instantly accessible when you press the Xbox button on a controller. From here you can get to
the home page on the dashboard, your games and apps, store, most recently run experiences and Pins. This is also where you will get to and manage your key multi-tasking scenarios.

At this time, there are no plans to implement a feature to turn this off and revert back to the old Home button. If you would like your voice heard, please check out our
Feedback site. There you can check to see if others have posted a suggestion similar to this and give it a vote. You can also post up your own suggestion, if you don't see this one after a search.

    Controller Battery Pack

What I do is I turn on the Xbox by pressing the Guide button, then when I finish press the Guide button again. It then gives me 2 options, turn off the controller or turn off the console. I go for turn off the console. Then I unplug it. Then 2 weeks will
go pass, then I'd turn it on again using the Guide button, then after about an hour maybe 2 the controller will run out of charge.

How to turn off the controller

You mean from the what do you want to do screen or pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off? Because there's that way of turning off the controller by pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off i believe
that was for the pc because the pc doesn't have the what do you want to do screen options where it says turn off the controller turn off console or restart console so the only option to turn off the controller on pc is pressing and holding guild guide button
6 seconds till it turns off

There shouldn't be a setting on the child's account that may block this. Simply perform a powercycle on your console and then cross-validate if it's still set as Home Xbox.

That's the Xbox Narrator. Follow these steps to turn it off:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Go down to the fifth tab and select Settings.

Scroll left and select the default option, All Settings.

The bottom option in Settings is Ease of Access. Scroll down to it and then scroll right to find and select Narrator.

The focus will default to the area where you can turn narrator on and off again. Press the A button on your controller to turn the narrator on. To turn it off, press the A button again.
