turn itself off overnight out of standby and slow snap bar

Hi,

Since I installed the last update on Saturday, I noticed my console is turning itself off overnight, when it is in standby like we had a power cut overnight, this has happened on Sunday and Monday morning, here is an example what going on.

I turn the console on play, finish playing turn it off and the power brick stays white as it in standby, play some more and off again, still white, go to bed and wake up to find it Orange, so check my router to see if we had a power cut as it has an uptime
counter and we have not.

i have also noticed the snap bar has gone somewhat slow loading the apps, having only jusy played CoD AW when pulling it up, so unsure what it like out of game or in others.

Any ideas?

Mine downloaded itself when i went in standby mode (xbox turn off) overnight, i noticed because my power brick was orange. Turned it on manually and it updated. it went really smooth. good job MS. now just fix your party system and i'll be 1 happy camper

I've never had an install problem. Yall need to either be patient while it downloads (I know the times are slow) or let it do it overnight/make sure you have your settings on you xbox where it is in standby mode and can update/download.

 

Sorry to hear it. Can you try holding the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts down then see if the issue repeats itself overnight again.

Also, if your console is connected to a power bar then try plugging it directly to a wall socket.

 

I have held the power button in for 10 seconds and power cycled it.

I do have it in a 8 way, however it been like that for the past 11 months and never happened before.

 

Well, try plugging it in to a wall socket for a bit anyway. If the issue continues then you should send it in for a repair.

 

This is happening to me too. It can be hard to expect folks to use a wall socket for one piece of equipment nowadays. Supposedly the brick has a surge protector in it but what about power fluxs from electrical noise and brown outs? They told me that this
only matters if your protector has too much stuff in it and its drawing power from the other devices. IDK.

 

I too am experiencing this issue. My Xbox fully turns itself off every night despite having it set to standby mode. Not even the controller will turn it, I have to physically hit the button on the console to power it on the next day.

 

Mine is still in standby when I woke up so it must just need a power cycled, unplug for a few minutes, I also checks my settings.

 

Great. Glad to hear the power cycle worked. You should do that every once in a while to clear the cache
