Trying to transfer an xbox account to a different email

Long story short the account was made using my dad's email, now after 13 years he is changing his passwords to spite me and my sister, the account was made for me when i was too young to use an email and my sister has always shared it with me.

Problem is she has invested alot of time and money into the account and i don't want to just create a new one, tried to contact microsoft but i was not able to get the "request a call"

Long story short, i want to switch the account to work with my email instead.

We have paid for everything on that account and the only thing my dad put towards it was the original email so i hope this can.be rectified

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make this transfer, as your Gamertag is permanently linked to the account creation email, just like the game licenses you purchased, the licenses are not transferable or shareable. they are permanently linked because the xbox account IS the microsoft account IS the office365 account, they are one in the same hence the reason nothing can be transferred. as with most countries, all purchases are tied to the account that made the purchase, this is the law in a lot of countries with regards to online and digital purchases. as nobody owns the actual product, when you purchase a game you get a licence, that licence is then granted to the purchaser and is not allowed to be transferred or sold on in any way shape or form.

So the account is effectively lost due to an overzealous person, that's great...

Not happy about this at all but thanks for the clarification.

This is not a very user friendly approach as i imagine quite a few people have lost everything because of a lost account or a relative dying or something that would make access to the original account impossible.

Thankyou though mateus for responding i appreciate it and the above mini rant was targetted to the people who decided accounts should be permanently linked without option to switch them.
