Trying to reset account, being asked dozen of times to "Enter these characters" for security...

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with connecting with an agent. Unfortunately, the only way to reset your account password is through the website.

Try this To reset your password:

1. Go to the
Reset your password page.

2. Choose the reason you need your password reset, then click Next.

3. Enter the Microsoft account email address you're trying to recover. If you don't know or can't remember the email address for your Microsoft account, see

4. Enter the characters you see on the screen, then click Next.

5. If you have security info on your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter the code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password. Learn

If you would like to talk to an agent try this:

• Log into Support.Xbox.com
  
• Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
  
• A new window will pop up
  
• Type in contact Support - you will receive different options, such as:
  
  • Message with an Xbox Gamer
    
  • Call me back
    
  • Ask the Community

If you've forgotten your security key for your Xbox One, just enter in a key incorrectly three times. Once it's entered three times it will ask you to enter your Microsoft account details and from there you change the pass key

In reply to own age this is what I have tried about three times already, I complete this forum then I get an email saying "Thank you for your request. Your Microsoft account "account name"@btinternet.com was created using an email address from a provider
other than Microsoft. To reset your password for this account, follow these steps:

Select an option and click "Reset your password".

Enter your Microsoft Account, then enter the security characters, lastly click "Next".

On the following page, select "Email me a reset link" and then click "Next".

A reset link is now sent to your email address" But I cannot do this because we are no longer with bt so cannot see the emails that go to that address.
