Trying to redeem my xbox live gold subscription

I bought a prepaid Xbox Live Gold card to redeem my subscription. I typed in the code perfectly and pressed enter and got the message "a pre-existing subscription is blocking your code redemption" I then tried on the computer and it gave error code d0ba909b-7538-4f34-81dc-421e14efba1f
which never came up with anything when I searched for it in the error code finder. PLEASE HELP!

Wait so you get 2 free games every month even if you stop paying for Gold??

Yeah, unless something has changed recently, you get to keep your Xbox 360 gold games.

But the Xbox One gold games you need to have an active subscription.

Here it is from the official Xbox site:

What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?

On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.Click to expand...

Trying to redeem free 1 month trial of gold error.

I do not current have an active subscription to gold which is why I have been trying to redeem this offer. I haven't had Xbox live gold since last year.

got a similar code but told me no permission at the bottom. called and they are fixing it wont know till tomorrow

Just to be sure, also check http://account.microsoft.com/services if there are any issues like outstanding amount or payment option details not being updated, which could cause an issue like this.

A different cause can be that some subscriptions (like for example a special offer like 12+1m) will result in not being able to redeem a new subscription until the current one has ended.

So it's best to wait until the current subscription ends and redeem the code after that.

When you try to access Games with Gold, make sure you're using the gamertag that has the Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. If you redeemed a promotional Xbox Live Gold code as
part of your subscription, you won't be eligible for Games with Gold. If you used a prepaid code to sign up for Xbox Live Gold, make sure it was successfully redeemed.

As you've mentioned, you're getting an error code 80190128. This may mean that the Xbox Live Gold free trial subscription that you’re trying to sign up for has already been redeemed. It is either your Xbox Live account already redeemed the free trial Gold
subscription or the console that you're using already reached the limit for trial accounts (3 per console).

Here at our How to get an Xbox Live Gold trial subscription it is explained that:

The following limitations and restrictions apply to Xbox Live trials from games or console bundles:

If you have an existing paid Xbox Live Gold subscription, you can’t redeem an Xbox Live Gold trial from games or console bundles to extend your subscription period. However, you can redeem the prepaid code once your current paid subscription expires.
Redeemable codes for Xbox Live Gold trial subscriptions are only available in select games and console bundles.
You can’t stack redeemable codes for Xbox Live Gold trials from games or console bundles. This means that you can’t start another trial period before your current trial period has finished. However, you can purchase an Xbox Live Gold subscription and start
that subscription at any time during the trial period.
