Trying to recover my brothers Gamertag.

My brother got an Xbox One and he tried downloading his previous account but doesn't remember the email or password, but I know his gamertag. Is there any possible way someone from Microsoft can get into the account by just the gamertag or a website that
can recover it. I'd really like to help him.

Can't use my brothers hard drive on my x box

you shouldn't have to do this since it is your brothers hdd, but would you mind trying to recover the gamertag? I'm just trying to figure out what is going on. I haven't heard of this before.

Ok, I found the problem, but it brings up a new problem now.

I have two accounts linked for live id's, one giving me the T Roy937 account, and the other giving me the one that is my current profile.

New problem though, the e-mail that I need to download my profile appears to have been shut down by the company sometime within the last year, so I can't verify the account, and therefore can't download the profile.

Is there any way to switch it to my current e-mail, or bypass the verification step to download the profile. As of right now I can't log into my account because it has been shut down.

You can go through the Account Recovery Solution to find the email address the account it tied to. You can find it here:

support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account-solution

You'll have to be able to answer a number of questions related to the account to prove ownership of the account.

In addition to the link Sipuli91 provided, I'd like to add that you'll need a data transfer kit if you want to transfer the saves and content from your old hard drive to the one in your new console:
