    Trying to play games from Xbox App, instead directs me to the Gaming Services on Microsoft...


    I recently bought gamepass and started playing Forza Horizon 5. Everything was going well for about 5-6 days. When i tried to launch Forza again, i was redirected to the Gaming Services app on the Microsoft Store. Naturally i tried installing it and everything seemed fine, but when i tried to launch Forza once more i was redirected again. Since then i've tried both reinstalling Gaming Services, Microsoft Store, Xbox app and even Forza (and now i can't even re-download Forza).

    Please help me Trying to play games from Xbox App, instead directs me to the Gaming Services on Microsoft... :(

    UPDATE:

    I DID IT. I'm not even sure what I did but it works again!!!

    Here's the steps I took:

    - Uninstalled Xbox App

    - Reset and repaired Gaming Services and Microsoft Store just to be safe

    - Made sure there was nothing Xbox related running in the background through task manager

    - Proceeded with your solution 1 as normal

    After the reboot, I went to download the Xbox app again to test it, and it seemed to get stuck downloading. I followed the first process from this guide to reset the Xbox app package. Then, finally, the app was there, and it works! It briefly gave me an error (0x87DD0005) when trying to sign me in, but after opening and closing a game, it seems to have resolved itself and signed me in.

    I've experienced several issues trying to launch games after one of the many components is updated on my PC.

    The method below usually resolves the problems.

    1) Get latest Windows Updates

    Start Menu / Settings / Updates and Security / Check for Updates

    2) Get latest Microsoft Store Updates

    Start Menu / Microsoft Store / Library / Get Updates / Update All

    3) Reset Microsoft Store App

    Start Menu / Settings / Apps / Microsoft Store / Advanced options / Reset

    4) Restart Computer

    Sorry to hear about this issue with gaming services, I will be looking into helping with what I can. I noticed the steps you provided above and want to make sure we have everything covered. I am looking at some things on my end but I want to verify a couple things first. I saw the guide and items you posted above; I want to make sure that you tried the following. If you have already, let me know, but these have led multiple people to a solution with this exact same problem before so figured we can start here.

    Solution 1:

    Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

    PC reboot

    Install gaming service like you would normally

    Solution 2:

    Go to Windows settings
    Applications
    Applications and Features
    Look for Gaming Services
    Click on it
    Advanced options
    Tap repair

    - If it doesn't work, try the alternative below.

    Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the following link, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

    I     know you stated that you did Registry Edits and everything, but I would be remised if I didn't start here. I will still be working on my end to investigate further but feel free to try these steps for now and let me know.
