Trying to play digitally owned game on xbox one

I’m currently trying to play my digitally owned copy of watchdogs (got via the games With gold promotion a year or so ago) and I can’t launch the game, I get an error message saying that my gold subscription needs to be renewed. Also when I go into the games
with gold tile, the system doesn’t recognize me as a gold subscriber. I’ve checked my subscription and my latest autopay happened today.

I’ve tried clearing the cache, signing in and out of my profile and uninstalling and reinstalling the game with no luck.

If anyone has any advice I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you owned it on disc, you would need the disc in order to play it on the One. The only way it would show up free on the One is if you owned it digitally.

 

A Question about A Backwards Compatible Games

Why do I have to pay again for a game on Xbox One if I owned it digitally of the Xbox 360?

i owned both of the keflings games world and kingdom, but now it wants my to pay $10 for kingdom again

Sometimes server issues do mess with digital downloads. I would wait and see if it resolved itself.

 

It sounds like you have your gamertag attached to a different account on Xbox.com.

I would double check that all the info is correct on both sides. And if it is, give 1-800-4-MY-XBOX a call and see if they can look into it.

 

Logging into account.microsoft.com will show you what subscriptions, and devices show on your account. If something is missing there, call support.

 

Sorry to hear it. This could be an issue with your account. Can you please try deleting your tag from the console then power cycle it by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. When you power back up redownload the tag to see
if that helps.
