Trying to move my microsoft account

Hi. I am trying to move the gamertag that is associated with this account off of it (I don't even know where SnaggingDig82 came from - not on my drunkest day would I have ever come up with something like that) but no matter what account I try to move the
gamertag to, it won't go. It just keeps telling me "Sorry, we can't change your microsoft account right now" and tells me to get more information on xbox.com/accountswap.

I need to clear this main account so I can move my actual gamertag to it and have all my microsoft services on one account. Does anyone know what is going on with this? Thanks.

I created a microsoft account on a new email that does not have a profile yet and I attempted to move Microsoft Account 1's gamer tag to that new microsoft account 3 but I got an error. I have NOT moved any gamer tag to any profile EVER so I have no idea
why I am getting that error. This is my first time trying to move my gamertag for microsoft account 1 to microsoft account 3 (doesn't have a profile) since I want to move microsoft account 2's gamer tag to microsoft account 1's email. Thanks.

 

Moving gamertag to different Microsoft account

I have tried countless times to move my gamertag to a different Microsoft account but I'm getting an error that reads , " sorry we can not move your account right now" I have never moved my account to another Microsoft account so the 30 day wait limit
rule does not apply in this situation. I am trying to set a different Microsoft account due to the fact that I have recently bought n Xbox One. I am not able to access the yahoo account associated with my Microsoft account so I am deciding to move it. I hope
that you can help me in any way possible

That is what is known as a randomly generated gamertag. These are assigned to microsoft accounts that log into an Xbox LIVE service, such as this website, when they don't already have a gamertag assigned to them. The error message you are getting means one
of three things.

1: You account is less than 30 days old.

2: You have already moved your gamertag to a new microsoft account in the last 30 days.

3: You have downloaded your profile from Xbox LIVE to a console / device in the last 30 days.

In each instance, all you need to do is wait for the 30 days to pass. Please note that downloading your profile to a console / device will reset the 30 day timer. Once 30 days has passed, you should be able to make the change without any issues what so ever.

Ok - the answer makes sense... But gosh the process doesn't. I had to download the profile to my old 360 to move the tag off of it. So, now I have to wait 30 days to actually do it. Thanks for the reply and I guess I'll just see what happens in 30 days.
