Trying to get my XBOX ONE and COD3 to both have an Open NAT

I have been trying for the past 3 days to find the proper setup to give my Xbox one and COD3 a open NAT. I have been on Google and YouTube trying to see what others have done but it isn't working for me.

I get my internet through Comcast (gateway + Wi-Fi in one) but I prefer to use an apple airport Express because the Comcast Wi-Fi sucks. So I just connect the Airport Express to the Gateway via Ethernet cable and use Xbox live wirelessly. But I recently
bought a Net gear Wi-Fi extender thinking it may help to connect my Xbox One to the Extender with a Ethernet cable. When I first connected it Via cable the Xbox showed Open NAT but COD was in Moderate as it always is for me.

Ive tried changing adding port forwards in my airport express since it is what I connect Xbox live through but something is missing it isn't working.

Does Bridge Mode work on Airport express? or do I need to make changes through the Comcast gate way/modem? or is there a way to make changes in my new Extender that I need to do also?

any help from anybody would be great to point me in the right direction.

Two Xbox Ones in one household. Cannot chat at all.

My roommate and I both have Xbox Ones, and we are trying to play games together. We can get into each others games and parties but one of us cannot hear the other. We both have an open NAT. Any ideas?

Lots of threads on here in the past with people trying to use apple airports , most didn't end well , I have no apple knowledge except that they wont let you change much ...the Gateway the your cable goes into would have to be in bridge mode to have any
chance at open nat though , I also know by default , the airports have the terredo tunneling disabled , you need to "allow terredo tunneling" on there ,

On the Xbox One, if you are having issues getting into multiplayer gaming with this router, it may be blocking Teredo tunnels. This is a setting that is left unchecked by default on this router.

To allow Teredo tunnels:

1.Open the AirPort Admin Utility. (It is installed in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a Macintosh computer, and in Start > All Programs > AirPort on computers using Windows.)

2.With the Utility open select your device from the menu on the left.

3.Select Advanced from the menu at the top.

4.Select the tab labeled IPv6 Firewall.

5.Check the option to Allow Teredo tunnels.

6.Select Update.

 

Thx, it worked!!!! But I noticed there is more lag it seems. I wonder if it is because I changed my airport settings?

 

Not sure on the lag , always though , hard reset the xbox one AND modem and router ....did you bridge the gateway ? if your wireless , try a cable connection and see if lag disappears ...

 

I did reset all 3 items, Xbox, apple Express and Comcast gateway.

Try a cable connection to xbox to apple router or gateway? both are not in reaching distance. I may have to have it moved when the tech comes out the weekend.

 

try wired to the airport , if lag is gone , you know its your wireless causing it....

 

So lag hasn't been bad at all last couple days. But just found out I can't use party chat. I get an error message saying to check network settings? Game chat seems to be ok. Now trying to get this figured out

how are you wired now ? Comcast gateway wired to airport and the xbox wireless to airport ?

 

Correct, Comcast to airport, and Xbox wireless to airport

 

to see if the airport is the bad guy , try wired to the Comcast...

 

Should I disable the bridge mode then from the Comcast gateway?

 

I would try it straight up first ...

 

If wired isnt an option due to location from my gateway to Xbox, then should I shy away from the airport? Is there a better router more compatable with Xbox one?
