trying to find privacy settings

hello, Microsoft community I have a small issue and I was wondering if someone can help me out. A bit of back story I have a friend who is on Nintendo switch and me being on Xbox. so with us being on different platforms it kinda limits the games we can play but with Minecraft recently adding cross-play to the game we thought it would be a fun idea. well, they got Nintendo online, Minecraft, and a Microsoft account but when they go to Minecraft and to the friend's tab it says please change account settings because it wasn't set up correctly. so we have been looking around for the last hour to find the settings they were talking about and every time I find a link to go settings it just brings me to support so I was wondering if someone can give an in-depth guide and a link to get to the allow to play with people outside of Xbox live and join cubs those settings so we can play with each other. thank you to anyone able to help have a good day.

Hi, Press the Xbox button  to open the guide. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy.

hi, Jamie thank you for the response but I still seem to not be able to find that. I do apologize but when you say press Xbox button for guide what Xbox button? again my apologies and thank have a good day.

Hey there!

You can log in to your
Microsoft Account through a web browser and at the top of the page will be an option to view privacy. That's where you'll be able to manage all privacy settings.

Usually it depends on if you can change it with an xbox or you have to do it on the microsoft website, if so try and find the privacy and online settings, it's usually around those settings.
