Trying to find a User's Xbox account name using their MSA id

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Unfortunately, there is no way to find a users gamertag using their MSA email. This is most likely for security reasons. If you would like to submit feedback or an idea for possible consideration for a future

That's the issue, we do not have the user's Username and I do not believe my friend wants to have him banned. All we would like to find is the person's Username from their MSA id, since that is the only information we have about them.

I would report the Malicious user through
Microsoft's report system. They can ban the user and investigate thoroughly for you.

to change the msa email on your profile you need to do so on the console.

its under settings-account-account security

you will find change msa.

it will then ask for the current msa pw and then the new email and pw.

the catch is you can only use another msa that does not have another gt attched to it.

if you are trying to use a yahoo or gmail or somehting other than hotmail or live you first need to go to signup.live.com to turn the email into a msa.

STAY AWAY FROM XBOX.COM WHEN CHANGING YOUR MSA.

as soon as the email is turned into a msa on signup.live.com go straight to your console and change it.

again, to use the same profile name as the online gt you use on your xbox you must sign into xbox.com with the msa email attached to the desired profile name as the console. if you sign into xbox.com with a msa email that is not on the profile you use on
the console it will not sign you into that profile on xbox.com.....

again, i just think this is an issue of user error.
