trying to figure out gameshare and account security

Hello there! Hopefully i can explain things well enough without confusing anyone haha, it all started with trying to redo gameshare with a friend who got a new xbox, When he tried signing into my account on his xbox it kept asking for a passcode it would
email me. Turns out it was sending the code to an email address that no longer exists, i dont remember doing it since it was so long ago but i think it was a backup email address because my sign in info is under a different email. So i changed it to a newer
email address, it wouldn't let me use my current sign in email for this i'm guessing because its like a backup. It said it would take a month for these changes to take effect. So i guess the question is is there anyway we can gameshare now? because it always
asks for a code that gets emailed to me, or will we just have to wait a month before we can redo everything?

Trouble gamesharing with my friend please help

So im trying to sign into my friends account to gameshare with him and i keep getting this another user on this device uses this microsoft account, so you can't add it here.

I am trying to figure out how to unluck helmets. Security police says to visit waypoint to find out how, but I can't see anything that shows me. Can anyone help please?

 

First of all, you should know that sharing account information is a violation of the code of conduct so you're both putting yourself at risk for being banned.

If you can't sign into your account on his console without the code being sent, then you would have to wait for that to be fixed before you could redo anything.

 

To help explain this to you the best way that i can.

1. There are two types of emails that can be put onto an account

1. Sign in email- Used for signing into the account.

2. Security proofs- can be a phone number for a text or can be an email to receive an email. this is used if you ever lose access to your account information like your password or changing any major things on an account like if you wanted to change your
phone number or email on your account.

Now the sign in email and security proof emails can be the same as long as they are not a Microsoft server email (@outlook.com, @Hotmail.com, @msn.com, @live.com) This may be why its not letting you put in your sign in email for the security proof.

Now for your situation if an account is trying to be put onto a console that it has never been on before it will also ask for a security proof verification which is basically an email or text with i believe around a 4-6 digit code sent that you would put
in on the screen but you did not have access to the current security proof of the email that was on the account.

So if you have access to the account via email and password but do not have access to the security proof you can update the security proof but for security reasons Microsoft will put a 30 day hold on the account for anything that requires a security proof
code sent out. (See number 2 above) Once that 30 day hold is up the new security proof will be on the account and anything that requires a security proof will then be able to be done with the new security proof.

Unfortunately once the security proof change request has been started the only way to cancel it would be to gain access to the old security proof because Microsoft will want to send a code to that proof in order for it to be cancelled.

Now like Smwutches said sharing of your account information is a violation of the code of conduct.

the Home feature for the xbox one was meant for people that are in the same household and not for sharing your information with your friends.

Hey there. As Smwutches and steeledwand7664 mentioned, if you reset security information on your Microsoft account, you'll need to wait 30 days to
make additional changes to your account.

If this is preventing you from making Home Console designation changes currently due to not being able to access your security code, we're afraid you'll need to wait those 30 days.

Additionally, please do not share your account information with any other users. You'll want to have your friend sign into your Xbox One console on his own and vice versa.
