Trying to download Skate, but every time I get 5GB of corrupt data

Hi.

A while back I bought Skate on disc (loved it, finished it, sold it).

I fancied playing it again, so purchased the download version of Skate and it happily downloads all 5GB to my HDD. When it has finished, I go to "my games" and it briefly appears at the beginning of the list, but a fraction of a second disappears. In the
storage settings, it's marked as corrupt. Thinking perhaps bad sector on disk, I deleted a whole bunch of stuff installed from disc, deleted marketplace cache, deleted system cache, rebooted and started again. Same result (downloads all 5GB but is corrupt).

I tried removing the HDD and using an official Xbox360 stick instead, and it started to download. When I came back later it showed "could not download content" or something like that - there was 7GB spare on the stick after the live update, so it should
have been ok for 5GB yeah?

I have a USA 360, but I'm in the UK, but I don't think this should matter because I've successfully downloaded loads of other games in the past (but it has been a while - I've been using the Xbox One since launch and have only recently dug out the 360).

Any further suggestions? Go and buy the physical again? lol...

the tips from above are good but i woud COPY the data and not move it.

It some times happens that moved data gets corrupt and then you've lost every thing so copy it to bee save.

 

Exchange game download keys for CDs

Hello,

I purchased Xbox 360 from Australia and with that bundle i got 3 Games for download, Each games lists to be 5gb+.

Now I am back in India and my internet bandwidth wont be able to sustain such a huge download of data (5gb+ x 3).

Is it possible that i can go into a store\ call microsoft suppot and exchange those games with actual CD's of those,

I' m ok if i have to pay a little to get the CD's instead of me trying to download it , which is not going to work for me.

Is your account set for the UK as well? If you're account region is set to the US, but you live in the UK, you will have issues downloading region locked content. Not all content is region locked which is why you would have no issues downloading some content
but not others.

 

Cheers, that could be it. I think the account matches the region of the 360 (i.e. US).

Before I go and try and change it, can I ask, should it warn me? I'm not seeing any warnings.

 

And second question, if I change my region to UK, will my previously downloaded games cease to work?

 

Ah, I think I found the answers and it's not pretty - I have to spend all my money before changing region and games downloaded previously are not guaranteed to work.... doh. I'll just get the disc version - far less hassle.
