    Trying to download and Xbox Game Pass game to my E: Drive


    I purchased a 1 month membership for xbox game pass because I wanted to play the game High On Life, so i downloaded it to my E: drive which has 160 GBs free and the game only occupies near 50 GBs so space wasnt an issue, the game downloaded in a couple of minutes (15 or something) and when i press play it does not open, if i restart the app it gives me the following error https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYrRW_41boU&t=91s. I have googled this error already and tried to follow multiple solutions that I found on youtube and or on the microsoft app itself and non of them have worked.

    Just to be sure i tried downloading another smaller game to my E: Drive and it gave me the same error, I then downloaded the game to my C: Drive which is my main drive and also an SSD and it did work there but i do not want to download large games to my C: drive since i like to keep a lot of free space available there.

    I'd be extremely grateful if I could be helped in regards to this problem

    I too am having a similar problem. Attempting to install High On Life to my E:\XBoxGames folder I receive Error: 0x87DD0017

    Seems like there is a problem with installing to any other drive besides C:

    I have almost the same question but it's a little different. I just bought the Game Pass and wanted to download some games to my E driver (External Hard Drive). When I click on download on some games It only shows my other drivers where I have no space. On some games it shows the E driver but what I want to download for example Forza Horizon 5, it only shows the others.

    Okay i will try that in the morning on my external hard drive and see whag happens. I may also try downloading the game on my partners xbox and see what happens.

    I have downloaded another game from game pass of 30 gbs earlier today and that had no problem downloading at all.

    I would also say alongside the online pass install the game on your hard drove as well, try downloading the pass on to a flash drive by selecting that flash drive at the begining of the game
