Trying to change profile pic on xbox to custom image but says I have to be older, and im over ...

This has been really bothering me for months now. I am 19 years old and would very much like to change my profile picture to a custom image. However, every time I click "Upload a custom image" it says, "Sorry, you have to be older."
Now when I first saw that I was like, okay, I'll just go and see if I am still a child on the Microsoft family. Sure enough, I was still registered as a child (When I first got xbox live I was 11) So I signed into the adult account and changed my account
from a child to an adult. Then I went back to my xbox, signed out and back in, and tried to upload a custom image again. It still said I had to be older. So I looked online on how to do it and one of your articles told me to just re-enter my birthdate. So
that's what I did. And it still doesn't work. Can someone actually help me please?

Changing account to Adult

When I change my account to adult I have this problem that when I go into profile to upload a custom image as my player icon, it says "For custom images, you need to be older" and I tried on the Xbox App but it just says "You need to be an adult". Please
help me fix.

Custom Gamerpic

When ever I try to change my gamerpic to a custom image it says I’m not old enough but is there another way I can change my gamer pic?

Hi there,

if you haven't tried be sure to try and remove your profile, power cycle the console and redownload the profile again.

If that doesn't do anything then there might be something still going on on your profile and in such case it's best to contact Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat so they can take a look into your account to see if something is still making
your account show as child account.

If you changed the birthdate on your account via Microsoft.xbox.com that does not carry over to your Xbox account. The birthdate on your Xbox account is permanent unfortunately.

I recommend that you sign into your Microsoft account on the Xbox console, use Profile & system and open My profile.

Use customize profile then, use change gamer-pic. Open Upload a custom image, then select the image.

Personally I do not use a custom image as a gamer-pic. I have no images saved on my Xbox console as files, to upload as a custom gamer-pic.

Hi Lucas, I’ve been having difficulties with changing my xbox profile picture to a custom image on xbox and on the xbox app. It keeps saying that’s its done uploading but it’s not updating it has been doing it for the past 2 days but I changed it to a default pic on Xbox but now I can’t change it to a custom one
