    Trying to change Minecraft chat settings


    I have been playing on a survival realm (on Bedrock Edition) with a few friends. I noticed that I am unable to see chat messages from people who are not labeled as my friends, and have been trying to change my settings in order to allow this. However,
    when I go to the Family & Online Safety help page and click the "Privacy and Online Safety" button, it simply redirects me to the same help page. How do I actually change the settings?

    Why is my Minecraft chat not working?

    To fix the 'Can't chat in Minecraft” error, go to Options > Chat settings and change the settings from Command Only to Shown. This will let you talk and share your thoughts
    with all the other creative Minecraft players. If chat is still unavailable, disconnect from the game and then enable the connection again. Also a way to fix is hard resetting your game by quitting out of the game launching
    another and then quit that, turn off Xbox, and unplug it. Let it set for 10 then try again.
    In the newest update to bedrock these options are no longer there. As the UI has changed for Minecraft bedrock edition.

    Have you checked the in game settings to allow chat?

    The main reason why the ‘Can’t chat in Minecraft” error occurs is quite simple: the game comes with a set of default settings in the multiplayer section and usually, the chat setting is set to command only. This allows you to input commands but does not let you chat with other users or interact with them

    To fix the ‘Can’t chat in Minecraft” error, go to Options > Chat settings and change the settings from Command Only to Shown. This will let you talk and share your thoughts with all the other creative Minecraft players.

    If chat is still unavailable, disconnect from the game and then enable the connection again.

    Enforcement.xbox.com is the place to head in order to see if you've had a suspension. You would have had notification if you've been comm banned.

    If it's been months, it's probably more likely to be an error and some trouble shooting may be in order . Try the following ...
