Trying to add new member to family - no verification code sent

Hi!

I'm trying to add my son to Microsoft Family, so he can play some games. I log in to family.microsoft.com, choose "Add a family member" and enter his email address.

He gets the invitation email and follows the link to accept invitation. On the page it says he needs a code to sign in, and that it will be sent to his email address. He clicks "Send code" and then we get no further. No email with the code is received.

When we try to create a regular Microsoft account, it says one already exists. He never had one so I guess it was created during the family invitation? Anyways it's impossible to recover that account, if it exists, since we haven't entered any personal information (name, phone, password, address etc) to complete the recover verification process.

I'm unable to find any way to reach microsoft support, so I'm looking for help here

If the verification code isn’t arriving, here are a few quick steps to try.

1) Check spam/junk folders on your son’s email account.

2) Make sure the email address is entered correctly during the invite.

3) Have him add @account.microsoft.com to his safe sender list.

4) Wait a few minutes and then try resending the code.

If the account partially exists, it may have been auto-created but not fully activated. In that case, you can try to recover it using this link https://account.live.com/acsr

Been through all the FAQs etc. already. The other family member already has a profile on the Xbox with their Xbox Free membership, but there is no option at all to add them as a family member on Xbox.com Account management, and the Family settings page on
the Xbox shows just the content controls. And I am the primary member.

I went to the Account support page and there was a notice there stating that there were technical issues and that email verification codes were not being sent out. So I suppose it's possible that whatever web service is supposed to update/unlock my Family
panel hasn't done so yet. That's all I can think of - the option to add members simply isn't where the support files/FAQs claim it should be, even if I sign out/sign back in or reboot the Xbox entirely.

To add points to a Gold Family Account non-primary member, and not have to go through the Primary Account's Xbox "grant points" process, do the following:

-- Buy a prepaid code for points from somewhere, such as Amazon.com or Gamestop or wherever

-- Follow the directions on this page to add the points: support.xbox.com/.../redeem-prepaid-codes

-- You can redeem the code directly on the Xbox console that you have your Family Member account on, or you can login at Xbox.com with your Family Member account and enter it there.

You can do this as a Family *Member*, you do not have to be the Primary Member to add points in this fashion.

To add have you made sure that the account you would like to add to your Family Pack has first been downloaded to your Xbox or the Xbox that you are trying to add family members to?
