    So first you can do what all the other Xbox support says "reboot the Xbox or unplug it all and plug it back in", well I had tried that for an hour straight because I had the "black screen of death". What I did to fix it was to reset the video display on
    my tv back to the factory default settings (have a Samsung tv). Look at what kind of tv you have and the model number and search it up on how to restore it to factory deafault settings, after you do that you should be able to see your Xbox home screen. Also
    after that don't forget to change all your settings back to the way they were. Hope this helps you!

    This is a shot in the dark but what are your video output settings on the Xbox set to? Is this straight to the tv or through an amp? Try auto detect for the video output and as always try another hdmi cable and input if you can.

    Honestly, if there's no video output, and it doesn't boot with/without HDD, you could try a wired controller to see if there's any enrolling on the controller, but it sounds like your console needs to get serviced.

    as all the other Ambassadors have answered below "yes" it will.

    I recommend you you check you video setting when once you have setup your monitor and shiny new Xbox one X, in the video screen you will see what output you are getting and can tweak your video settings also.

    Xbox One has 2 outputs - one HDMI and one Optical Audio (s/pdif). HDMI carries both audio and video. But if you want to send your audio to a receiver that does not have HDMI inputs, then you can use the optical output from Xbox One. PS4 is exactly the
    same.

    And William is right - if you try converting HDMI to DVI, you will lose the audio on both Xbox and PS4 (unless you are using the separate optical output for audio).

    Check your Xbox One S video settings and make sure that your console is set to output at the correct resolution (in this case, 4K). Also, try adjusting the video output settings to see if that improves the performance.

    t's possible that there could be a hardware issue with your Xbox One S or TV.

    Major Nelson did let slip on a video during E3 that you can actually plug the xbox360's hdmi output into the Xbox One's input. Not sure why, possibly makes playing 360 games easier, but ill be trying it day one to see what it does (us in the UK won't have
    the tv functions at launch, so no point putting my Sky tv output into the Xbox One)
