    So after downloading the latest Build I have been getting an error message more and more frequently regarding the USB ports on my Project Scorpio Editions of my Xbox One X's. I said that as in multiple X's so we know it's not a one-off of a particular console
    only. I'm getting it on multiple consoles with different HDD's. One is a Western Digital and the other is a Seagate. Sometimes the problem happens immediately when I boot up the Xbox's and sometimes it takes a while before it happens. I get an Error Message
    that reads:

    Try another USB port or cable

    We see your external storage, but the connection is too weak to use. (0x8082000d)

    I have tried unplugging the drives and plugging them back in after several minutes. I've tried changing the USB ports they are plugged into. I've also Hard Reset the Xbox with the drive in and out (then plugged in after the complete boot is done). Thus
    far nothing has actually done anything to fix this problem with any consistency. Sometimes just unplugging it and plugging it back in works. Other times it just resolves itself when it feels like it. Please advise.

    Hi

    If you have an alternate USB cable available I would try using that just incase the cable is causing your issue and also try using another USB port on the PC.

    I am having trouble with my Hard Drive Transfer Cable

    Try c0ncept2's suggestion. Instead of plugging the drive into the cable, then the cable into the console.



    Try plugging the cable into a rear USB port, wait 15-20 seconds, then plug the drive into the cable, then wait another 30 seconds or so for the transfer pop-up.

    Are you on Preview system updates (Insider Program)?

    Are your hard drives powered externally, or through the USB port?

    Are your hard drives connected to a USB hub instead of directly into the Xbox USB ports? (hubs may possibly cause the connection to be "weak")

    Same problem here. My Seagate external hard drive blinks for about 5 seconds and then just stops then I get the 'we see your external storage, but the connection is too weak to use' error. It does this on two different xbox ones. Ive swapped out ports, unplugged
    everything, restarted the console. The hard drive works just fine and the blue light stays on when I plug it into my pc. Any solutions here?? and yes my external hard drive plugs into the wall and has a cord that plugs into the usb port.

    Please try another cable or another controller with the same cable to find the error - Cable or USB Port.

    Since you used the words "plug and play" I'm assuming that you're using a USB cable to plug it into your PC. I would try another USB cable - if it doesn't have the same symptoms, there's likely an issue with your original cable. If it still acts the same,
    it's likely something with the port on the controller or your computer. Try another port with the new USB cable... if no issues, then it was the computer port; if issues still, it's probably the controller's port.
