TRUE wireless network LAN "how to" questions.

I may already have my answer from reading (many many many) postings on this topic, but I am not 100% sure. My brother (who lives next door) and his child are able to see and connect to my network (as I have one of those super range extenders) with their
(identical) range extender. Both his home and mine are repeating from a wireless router that is sending out signal from our respective modems. In other words, both homes have a modem to wireless router to repeater. Both homes have multiple 360's (total of
6 slims). The repeaters can be configured to talk to one another thus making the network go from modem to router to repeater to repeater and receive a decent connection for wireless devices allowing one home to give enough bandwidth to the other home to stream
from youtube/netflix, etc. I just hope that makes enough sense to understand, but short version is configuration can be adjusted to make both homes one wireless network.

Now that my brain hurts from explaining that, we were talking about moving one of my 360's to his house and having 3v3 battles/championship party nights via LAN. If we can figure this out, we were thinking of also adding my father (3 generations of gamers)
and just going nuts. My father also could connect to the network if we use my brothers home network. I am going to test any suggestion later this week when I have keys to everyone's houses and a little time to spend walking back and forth across the street
and down the road. Thank god for golf carts...

From what I was reading, it looks like we can all be on the same (wireless) network with our slims and play system link by simply having one of us going to the system link multiplayer option and creating a "room" then having the other 5-7 360's search for it
in the system link menu. There is no need to make an adhoc network, nor is there any reason to put "gold" on all the accounts (as my girlfriend, my brothers wife, and my father have NO INTEREST in playing online, but love to play splitscreen or system link
via adhoc).

Short question is (barring speed from repeater to repeater), if everyone is connected to different wireless routers or repeaters on the same wireless network, can we just go in game, select system link, create a game, then have everyone connect to said created
game?

Please do not tell me about time out issues using repeaters or ping issues. I know all of that. Let us just assume that the speed from device to device is the same as adhoc networks so there is no question of speed. I just need to know if we can do as I asked
without adhoc, without gold, without XBL other than maybe signing into our accounts, but over local network LAN games when connecting via wifi routers.

Question on an 8+ player lan party.

Hello, i will be doing a lan party in the near future with my friends but need and an answer to my question. If i do a lan party with 8 people through a wireless network, how much people need to have gold?

 

My console has a problem in the wireless network hardware

 

EDIT: Just to make sure the reason for this is understood...

1)The slims are too far apart to see one another so adhoc will not work.

2)Not everyone has nor wants gold, so playing private matches on XBL will not work.

3a)Moving 3-5 360's and multiple flat screen TV's is just cumbersome and does not make any sense at all.

3b)I am not un-mounting my 60" and having my bother walk with my down the street with it twice a week.

3c)Allowing everyone to sit in their own homes is more comfortable and 1000 times more convenient as there would be no hardware to be moved or broken in transit.
