True wireless headset search.

Im on the hunt for some wireless headsets that deliver 7.1 surround sound and are truely wireless. I'm currently using some afterglow ag7 headset and they are in need of an upgrade. They function ok. The mic is low and its stereo. All it uses is a usb dongle
and I can go from xbox to pc easily and theres no cable to my controller. I'm hoping someone knows of a brand besides the astro a50. Any help is appreciated.

Bluetooth headset setup help needed!

^ Have you tried this? You should be able to connect any wireless headset that has bluetooth capabilities without too much hassle.

 

wireless true dolby headset

Can anyone recommend a good headset for xbox one please preferably white but black will do? Not turtle beach, i want my ears to be comfy and my px5 hurt after an hour. tia. also prefer true dolby surround.

 

I use the turtle beach Elite 800x headsets. They are 100% wireless and have bluetooth so I can connect to other devices. No external mic boom. they have a transmitter base that is also a charger. I like them.

 

they aren't cheap, I have them, like them, though there is white noise if you have no sound for example on the home screen. you have to set the mic to the right setting, or (apparently) you can sound like your heads in a bucket of water.

 

At the moment, there are only 2 headsets that I know of that meet your criteria. I happen to have both.

- turtle beach 800X

- Astro A50 gen3 (base station + headset)

Seeing that you don't want to consider Astro, your only other choice is TB. They are very fine headsets, the sound is pretty decent but definitely are not up to the quality the Astros have. The TB 800X has a lot of good features and you can control the headset
using your phone (via Bluetooth and TB's own app) to change volume, modes, etc.

Both headsets work exactly the same way as far as game audio and chat audio goes. Both will take the audio from an optical cable connected to your Xbox and both will have chat audio via USB. And also both have a base station that serves as a charging station
for the headsets.

Now, here's a wild card in the mix: recently Xbox announced a new group of wireless headsets that will run in the 100-150 bucks range. They are fully wireless (no base station needed) BUT the way you get surround sound out of these things is using Microsoft's
own Windows Sonic for headphones. Sonic is the equivalent of Dolby surround for headphones from Microsoft. If you have a windows 10 machine you have windows sonic already installed and you can give it a try and see if that is the way you'd like to go.
